SOURCE: Re: Lenovo laptop, series 3000 Is 45% battery capacity sufficient to upgrade BIOS?

As long as you have a good power source from the mains, all will be fine but ensure your firewall is allowing the upgrade!

I can,t get my password to work.

If it is your laptops BIOS password, you should remove CMOS battery. If you have never opened your lsptop, better don't do it, ask a service.

I want bios update my IBM Lenovo 7298 pc

Hi
If you go to the page below there are many options for installing a BIOS update.
Desktops and all in ones ThinkCentre Series desktops ThinkCentre M58e...

There are also various utilities to help you upgrade the BIOS, including one for upgrading from within Windows. You should make sure that you have a full backup of your data and programmes before you start. Please make sure that the version here is an upgrade compared with your current version and that you read the instructions very carefully and are comfortable with them as incorrectly upgrading, or interrupting the upgrade can lead to your machine refusing to boot at all from anything. Please be careful.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

Internal battery error 601 is displayed what is solution

1. This error is about the primary (main) battery, not the small CMOS one..
2. You may remove the primary battery from the laptop and use the laptop as a desktop using only a power cord. The battery doesn't have to be installed in the laptop and the error shouldn't be coming back then..
I would upgrade the BIOS first, it could be a bug and a newer BIOS might fix it..

Forgot BIOS startup Password

If you can access to the onboard battery, unplug that one, and put it back after 30 secondes. If that does not help, then flashing the BIOS (upgrade/overwrite) might help, because it overwrites the whole BIOS for a new one. Check the manifacturers manual for this BIOS swap. Beware that the swap/upgrade should be completed completely and correctly, otherwise you can not accees the computer at all anymore. If needed get help from a friend that has experience in this.

Lenovo 3000 y410 graphic card upgrade?

Lenovo Y410 System RAM can handle up to 2GB of memory. Since the machine has 2 slots for RAM and you already have 1GB preinstalled with the computer all you need to purchase is another stick of 1GB RAM.

There is no chance of upgrading Graphics card since it doesnt have a video card slot and the preinstalled VCARD is onboard.

Should you have any other questions just please leave a comment.

Cheers~

CANT CONNECT A 1TB SEAGATE 7200RPM HDD. oRIGINAL BIOS ON MOTHERBOARD

The BIOS may not be able to support a hard drive of such a large capacity. Check the motherboard manufacture's WEB site to see what size hard disk the BIOS can support. There maybe a BIOS upgrade that will allow the motherboard to support larger hard disk capacity.

Checksum Error after Bios Upgrade K7VZA

Have you tried resetting the CMOS? Often, after upgrading BIOS you need to clear the CMOS and re-setup to handle the new features. You should have a jumper to clear CMOS, or you can remove the power from the system and remove the battery for a few seconds to clear it.

Let me know if this clears up your issue.
