Question about GE Washing Machines
This is not such a bad problem and is fairly cheap and easy to repair.
Open the lid, reach in and get hold of the agitator on each side at the bottom and pull up real hard to remove. (it can be a bear to get out at times)
Once it is out, you will see a smaller round plastic block with a 1/2 inch bolt holding it on. remove the bolt and pull this block off the shaft.
Replace the block with new and reinstall the agitator.
