Just had the carb cleaned on a 149 Cub Cadet, put it on & it only ran with the choke 3/4 on so I played around with the adjustment screws & now it low idles but dies if I even touch the throttle.

The choke having to be on indicates a lean condition, you must still have a plugged jet or a passage plug has fallen out.

How do I adjust the choke on cub cadet rzt-s

Generally there is a mechanical choke from the throttle linkage. The throttle may have slipped from the clamp at the carb. There will be a screw that holds it in place. Loosen this screw and move the throttle cable forward then retighten. You may have to remove the filter to see if the choke is closing at full throttle. This should help.

Cub cadet will not keep running after starting because of to much gas

Make sure your air filter is clean. A dirty one will cause it to flood.
Setting on carb float could be not set right Make sure your choke is set properly. I don't have this make so is there an adjusting screw on the carb? If so might need adjusting for less fuel.

I have a Cub cadet series 2000 model 2146. When I turn the key the engine turns over but doesn't start. When I take the air filter off gas spits out when I choke it.

you need a carb kit it seems like the little stopper atached to the other end of your float is not stopping gas and is flooding the carb . try pinching the hose wit a pair vise grips gently though just to stop the flow of gas and then crank over if it starts try what i wrote down about repairing the carb.if you look thre is a round bowl held on by a screw or or a spring clip remove and when you get the new kit it will have a little triangle peice with a point somtimes the tip is metal sometimes it is rubber if it is metal there is a tiny rubber peice in the bottom of that hole needs to be replaced with new one also comes in kit . in the screw there are a few tiny holes if you dont have somthing small enough to fit in the holes get a tip cleaning set from home depot or lowes it is in the welding section it costs like 2 to 3 dollars it has tiny wires with ridges on it. clean out all the holes . somtimes the screw you remove to secure the bowl on if you look in the hole you will see a brass flat head screw in the middle of the carb so you are now looking in the stem on the center of carb remove it there are more holes in that as well if you dont have the little flat head dont worry about it it is about 2 inches in length over all . install new seals and put carb together . there should be a screw to adjust the gas mixture if so you should get a new one in kit it is long with a point and should have a spring on it remove old screw tighten new screw in all the way then turn back out two and a half turns and that should be close to the correct idle speed hope this helps

Cub cadet lawn tractor, ran out of gas. After

I would bet that the throttle shaft is worn and has a lot of play in it on the carburator. This is very common. The best bet is to have the carburator worked on by a small engine repair shop, or get a replacement one.

I had the same problem , found out it was the coil was getting hot. I replaced the coil which was not hard , remove 2 screws an unhook 2 wires. You have to get the coil from a dealer , in my area anyway. Hope this helped.
