SOURCE: I have power to the spa, but it won't power up

there are at least two separate circuit breakers feeding your spa and two reset buttons. the circuit breakers are located a few feet away from the spa in an electrical box.

the reset buttons are in the mechanical space of the spa where the pump and heater are located.

If the SnS or Sn Message is Blinking or Flashing OFF and ON without showing Water Temperature, it is a Verified Sensors Out of Sync Message.

SOURCE: I have a balboa spa and on the led it reads DRY

Dry means that there's insufficient flow of water through the heater, or non at all.

1) Check the water level - top up if low.
2) Ensure that all jets are open and flow water - if they don't you may have a pump issue.
3) Remove the filter(s) and see whether or not this clears the fault, if so clean or replace the filters.

Ian.

Leisure rite spa has fault code f2

The F2 Error Code is usually from a Balboa sp pack / system and normally is referring to a flow issue in your hot tub.

The usual culprit is a dirty filter, so make sure to either replace or give your hot tub filter a good cleaning. Also look at your intakes and out takes and make sure they are clear of debris.

We have a filter cleaning guide located here:
http://bathandspaparts.com/filtercartridgecleaning.aspx

You should also first cut the power to the unit and let it cool down and then reset it.

If this doesn't clear the problem up, you are probably going to need to start looking at water flow restrictions, such as air bubbles in the piping. A good flush will usually clear all of that out, without having to crack open any of the plumbing.

Last but not least, if none of that works, you are going to need to start looking at fuses, heating element, or the circuit board if all other trouble shooting does not fix your error.

The best advice here is that if cleaning or replacing the filter doesn't solve it, and then flushing out the system doesn't work, call a spa tech and have them come out. Unless you are a qualified spa tech, messing with the heater or circuit board is usually not advised.

Hope that helps.

My pumps will not turn on. i have a ms501s balboa master spa. i checked the pumps and they worked good. but the control panel wont turn them on. what can i do?

Is there a message code on the spaside control panel? That would be important to know. If you see no error codes, chances are that you have 'dead' buttons on the panel, especially if you have tested the pumps via an other power source.

I need to replace my Weslo Spa Comand Panel, 4 button, ovel. will the Balboa work.

The best suggestion in this case would be to replace the spa pack and upgrade. this is a really old system. You can replace the entire system for around $500.00 and have the latest working technology along with a new topside panel, overlays, heater, system, etc. The Balboa Value Pack Retrofit kit comes with everything you need along with cables. Since you have Weslo with an oval panel, the best suggestion would be the Balboa 54219-Z Value Pack Retrofit Kit. you can get it online by clicking on the link I have provided.

Hope that helps.

I have a balboa board #55098 and nothing works. I have disconnected everything and then tried powering up and it only clicks until the breaker trips any suggestions?

As with any troubleshooting over the Internet, this is like giving a haircut over the phone. So, that being said, this problem could be any number of reasons.

Here are some things you should have a spa technician look at (not in any specific order):

  • Power connections
  • Relay
  • Whether the transformer is seated properly
  • Whether there are loose wires
Disconnected all the components and see if it still does the same thing. If not, then one by one, reconnect the components until you isolate the problem. If the problem persists, then you might have a larger problem like a blown circuit board, etc.

Hope that helps!

Im getting a f6 code on my digital control topside pack. what is this and how can i fix it

F6 typically doesnt indicate an error. This is usually a programming code that tells you spa to filter every 12 hours.

If it is a FLo code that just looks like an F6, then you need to either replace the filter, replace the flow switch , or make sure the pump is pushing enough water.

Colman Spa trips GFI what is most common problem? GFI test good. Pump disconnected still trips, is heater most likely? Can you replace only heater? thanks

this should be simple ...
1.shut off the power
2.disconnect wires to heating element
3. turn power back on and see if it works if so replace heating element 45-95 dollars

if it still trips unplug all the cables from the pumps blower ozonators and see if it runs now,,,, if so plug each cable back (one at a time) until it trips again.if it trips that the problem pump etc.

99 percent of the the time its not the gfi its a device that is wet or shorted out ..Try everything else before replacing the gfi

Error code reads "5n" or "Sn" on the panel. Great lakes hot tub. chuck

'Sn' is a general error message relating to the temperature sensors.

Assuming that you have a Balboa spa pack (M7 version), turn off the power and remove the spa pack cover, you'll find two temperature sensors mounted in the top of the heater tube one at each end. Follow the wiring from the sensor to the plug(s) on the PCB and check that the connections are good, they have a habit of devekoping a poor connection.

If you have a multimeter you could also check the resistance of the two sensors. They should both be the same. If they aren't the same you'll probably have to replace them.

One final thing just to check... Ensure that there are no blockages within the heater. Unless you have service/gate valves you will have to drain the hot tub, unscrew the unions and check inside the heater for debris within the heater assembly.

If you're from the UK I may be able to help regarding parts etc.

Kind Regards,
Ian.
