ok here is what you will have to do remove the fuse panel it is down by drivers feet, above it is a push button to release it down.you will also have to remove it from the two hinge pins it hangs from. flip it over so you can see back at the top corner you will find a red and green wire together with a black plug the connection is going to be burned up remove plug cut wire and replace them with new ends and plug back in the red goes towards the windshield.

Sounds like you either have a cracked valve body or stuck valves inside of the transmission.

I think the transmission senser is bad on my 97 mystic how do we replace it

Which sensor are you wanting to replace? There are at least 12 sensors that input into the transmission computer and there are 5 solenoids that control the transmission. If you can give a diagnostic code or at least a symptom I may can lead you in the right direction.

When i put the car in drive it wont move an when i try to back up it wont move i have a mercury mountaineer

I'm sorry to say that you will either have to rebuild the transmission or replace it. All transmissions will start out in 1st. gear when put in drive. Oddly enough this is also the same gear that is used when you are in reverse. please let me know if you need help with anything else.

98 Mercury Sable no overdrive

I would suggest trying a tranny service. Changing the fluid and filter may help this. You can also put some transmission conditioner or something in it and try that. Lucas makes a real good transmission cleaner/conditioner. Be careful not to overfill the tranny though by adding this product. If this doesn't fix it then the soleniod will probably need to be replaced which requires tearing into the tranny
