Machine is clogged and water will not drip through to make espresso. the steam frother works sort of

Did your User Manual have a section that tells you how to clean out mineral deposits and hard water scale? Usually, this is done by filling the resevoir with white vinegar and then turning the machine ON for 30 seconds then OFF for 5 minutes. Keep repeating the ON-OFF cleaning cycle until all the vinegar is pumped into the carafe. If the machine needs further cleaning. Repeat the process until the scale and mineral deposits are dissolved. Finally, flush the machine with a full resevoir of clean water and run a normal BREW cycle. Should work like new.

My Jura Capresso E 8 is stuck in open tap filling system. I open tap it says filling system, it says close tap, when I close the tap it goes back into open tap. Float valve looks fine, water is moving

Open the tap with frother spout off. This happened to mine and I took the frother tip off and opened tap with tip off. Water filled and I closed tap...Machine returned "Ready". I heated water in microwave for three minutes- placed frother tip in hot water and all kinds of gunk came out. Lesson learned- Do a thorough cleaning of frother by immersing it in very hot water at least once monthly- even if you don't use it

The milk frother is not sucking milk from the cup... it appears that the steamer is working as if it is steaming the milk. Any ideas on why the frother tube is not sucking any milk up?

it is clogged with dried milk. Remove the frothing wand from the machine. now press milk froth. you should get a ton of steam blowing out of the hole where the frother used to be. Your frother comes apart for cleaning. pull the chrome tip off, pull the 90 degree fitting and the black milk suction tube off, if it is really dirty you can soak the disassembled frother in hot water with a cleaning tablet. ( the small ones you drop in the brew unit, not the big descaling tab.) also, there is a clear tube with a point on the end of it sticking out of the frothing wand. this is an air admittance oriface. it allows air to enter the hot milk stream and make it frothy and bubbly. if it gets clogged, you will get hot milk but no froth. Your machine came with a spare one in the parts kit.

Hi, the steam from the wand is not frothing the milk like it used to, hardly any froth at all.

If the frother is warming the milk, but is not frothing, then you want to make sure the panarello is clean.

Slide the cover off the frother and check the pin hold on the top edge of the cover. If this hole is blocked the milk will not froth. Rinza is great clean to help prevent these issues. http://www.cerinicoffee.com/rinza_urnex.asp

Also recommend frothing water instead of milk to clean the frother well.

DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5500 when trying to make a cappucino it wont **** up the milk any ideas thanks

Had this exact problem a few times on a cleaned well maintained milk jug top with an ESAM5500M. Delonghi 'repaired' it by sending a new milk jug frothing top.

It's caused by milk fat deposits, the frother part on the milk jug may look clean but deep inside it's not. I clean mine with pipe cleaners, detergent and hot water and still it wouldn't froth.

The problem re-occurs for me every 6 months or so. You could buy the milk fat remover solution to clean it. Personally I just boil the whole milk jug frother in detergent and the again in descaling solution, that's fixed this problem twice now, although I think it will eventually corrode the 'o' rings on the frother, still cheaper than buying a new frother part each time though.

If it still doesn't work after that, the only other reason for this problem I found mention of was caused by a broken rubber seal where the milk jug fits to the machine. It's most likely to be milk fat deposits inside the frother though.

My parents gave me their old espresso machine, it looks gross when I take the top lid off. How do I ensure it is properly cleaned? It's the Krups allegro fnd 112

You can buy coffee pot descaling products at the grocery or department stores, or you can use a vinegar and water solution to break down the mineral deposits. You can use a cloth to start the cleaning, but scrubbing with abrasives is not a good idea.

If you use a retail product, follow instructions; if you use vinegar, use half water, half vinegar. Run it as though you were making expresso, using the frother while you do it. The frother can also be taken apart and soaked. Afterward, run the machine with clean water until all traces of the vinegar are gone. If it is really dirty, you may have to do it several times. Thanks for using fixya.

It doesn't froth properly

Trial and error solved the problem. The milk island is great but needs REGULAR cleaning. In order to clean properly one has to take apart the milk island and clean all rubber components of the dried milk that can and will accumulate. The most important cleaning taking place in all little holes as they are most likely to clog from the dried milk.

The frother does not work. I cleaned and decalcified the reservoir but frother still not working

Try this, turn on the frother andtouch the steam wand if it is hot then the end nozzle is blocked, use a paperclip to clear. If it is not hot then open top panel to make sure thermostats are not tripped.

No water or steam is coming out of the frother. Tried rinsing machine and going back and forth from brew to froth with no results.

Just fixed this same problem by taking apart the water solenoid valve and cleaning out its connection tube of deposits that was blocking water/steam flow. I removed the magnetic coil but that's not required. The connector was very tight because it had loctite sealer on the threads. I used plumbers teflon tape on the threads when reassembling.

Plastic "Turbo Frother steam nozzle" blows off metal steam pipe

Pull off entire plastic wand off by unscrewing the top plastic piece. Inside the piece that connects to the screw top you should see two o-ring type spacers. The top one should be hard pastic and the one beneath should be rubber. Take the entire unit apart and clean, making sure to put all pieces back in the way they came out.

To put back on, take the top piece and put it back on the metal stem first then put the rest of the wand back on and gently push it as far up the metal stem as possible and screw back together. If you don't have the rubber spacer this could be the problem since the wand really has nothing grabbing onto the metal stem except for the rubber spacer. If this doesn't work, order another wand:
