I suspect that the hot water flowing through the fixture is expanding one or more pieces involved at the swing point making the joint too tight to allow movement; I know of no way to fix this except to replace the faucet.

New Navien NPE-240A replaces an older model but new unit will not circulate hot water.

There are 2 settings. One for recirc-ing inside the unit. Switch 1 off and switch 2 on, valve to the left turned to the left under INT . That is to recirc in the unit.
Other
Switch 1 is on and switch 2 is down and the valve to the left is turned to the right next to EXT. That is if you have plumbed in a separate line throughout the home for re-circulation.
It should be fine then.

Water in tub is only hot for a few seconds and then turns lukewarm. We have hot water everywhere else.

Shower temperature fluctuating and will not stabilise

You haven't provided much information to help narrow down the source of the problem.

Is the flow of both hot and cold water flowing freely? Are the water lines not clogged internally with corrosion or residue? Is it possible that the water is being diverted such as in an apartment building or to an outside spigot (sprinkler system) or kitchen faucets (dishwasher)?
Is your water heater temperature setting correct and is it supplying sufficient hot water flow to the shower?
Do you have a temperature balance cartridge in your shower faucet? If yes, it could possibly be faulty.

Why does moentrol bath valve give hot water pointed to "C" and vice versa?

Easy one.
Feel the pipes. The pipe on the right should be cold. If the pipes are correct, turn the cartridge 180 degrees.

Every morning there is 3"

Hello,

THats a bit tricky determining which water valve it is...while the one way to be sure would be a process of elemenation the cold water valve is most likely going to be the one. A fairly easy way to determine which one is,is turn off just the hot water tap and cold water tap seperatly over the course of a couple days and see when either is off if it still has water in the drum...meaning if with the cold water faucet off does it still have water in the morning and vice versa for when hot faucet is off

so with the cold faucet off no water in tub from overnight its the cold water valve
if no water in tub when hot is off its the hot
