This issue can be caused by several things:
1) If you record your own CD's, they must be "finalized."
2) If it's a "data" disc, they won't play in a CD player.
3) If a CD was burned as a "track at once" instead of a "disc at once" format, they will not play on a player
4) Some CD players recognize MP3 files while others only recognize .AIFF or .WAV files.

I have a Technics CD changer SL-PD867 it will not play re writable disc's all other disc ok

You should realize that this player is about 20 years old.
It was not designed to read CD-R or CD-RW media.
The signal from these media types is different from audio CDs you buy.

You will need a service manual to get the correct part number. Go online to Technics, contact customer support and technical department to see if they can provide one.

Hello My SL-MC7 gives a error message No Disk even the tray is full with disks. The disks are taken out to the player and put back again without being played Kind regards Rene

Well the first thing to try is a cd lense cleaner. You may have a build up of prticles and oil on the lense causing it not to read. Secondly, make sure you try a "Shop Purchased" cd to make sure it's not haveing problems reading "cdrs" (home made cds).
If after both of these methods you still have the same problem, it's down to the laser. Could be a series of things from tracking, focussing or the laser has died altogether. Unles your experienced with electronics in a big ay and have test meters and an oscilloscope, you need to decide how much you want to keep this CD player as a new one could be cheaper than a repair.

I have a Technics SL-PG480A CD player. It won't play CDs down loaded from i tunes. These CDs will play on another newer Sony. The Technics plays other commercial Cds without problem both before and after...

This player will not play either MP3 or MP4 encoded CdRs. It is a good 18 years old now and such things were unforeseen back in the day. The newer sony may well be MP3 compatible. You could convert MP4 to standard audio types on your pc via any number of software applications.

Technics SL-MC7 / Can't play cd's any more!

Friend. Did you try a CD that you purchased from the store? if so and this problem persist, then you need to get you a new player. If the CDs are scratched, some players will not play them, If they are burnt in mp3 format, (or data format) your player may not recognised this also. Please try playig a regular CD that you bought from the store, if this work, then you will need to reburn your music as a regular CD, hoping that the SL-MC700. reads copied. It should. But please checks these steps.

Please let me know what works.

Thank you
