Some tuners are equipped with a switch that allows selection of 9 KHz or 10 KHZ channel separation.

SOURCE: tuner increments

Same problem. Battery went dead and I received the error AO message when I tried to play a CD. The radio & keypad weren't right either. A Circuit City installer pulled my deck with the extraction keys and grounded out the deck by applying one of the wires to the small indentation on top of the deck. That reset the theft prevention on the CD player and I was happy until my battery went dead again. :(

SOURCE: FM Tuner not receiving - Yamaha R7 receiver

Take the cover off and look at the cable that connects the tuner to the main board. Make sure it is connected straight and tight. Make sure all screws in the back are tight, just in case it is a grounding issue. Iff all checks out and you still have issues, replace your tuner.

DEH-P7900 BT US model. Isthere any way I could change the tuner frequency to european one. Thanks.

The DEH-P7900BT is almost identical to the DEH-P85BT sold in Europe.

This is a US model and will tune most AM/FM stations in the UK/Europe. The FM broadcast band is 87.8 to 108.0 MHz. so it will not pick up any FM stations outside this range. Also, the tuning is in odd increments (such as 96.1, 96.3, 96.5, etc.) so some stations with even frequencies will be slightly distorted, depending on the power of the signal the station generates.

I found this bit of info for you but ill keep looking and let you know what i find out.
Also have you tried it in europe to see if it does work or not let me know ok

I cant tune in to AM radio stations like 873 2GB it only increments in units of 10 so nearest is 870 or 880. Is there a solution??

You would think a radio as versatile as yours would be able to tune to a specific frequency but you are experiencing one of the shortcomings of digital tuners. Some radios allow selection of 9 KHz or 10 Khz channel spacing on AM but that is not the answer for your particular problem.
