How can I fix my playstation 3 as it automatically switches it off after few seconds I turned it on?

Overheat issue possibly, clean vents. Need more information as per my other reply.

Turn off PS3 only by controller. The green LED on the console will turn Red. If you want to power off totally, use the physical switch at the rear of the console.

It sounds like the YLOD and that is caused by overheating you can send it in and they will fix it for you or you can use a good guide and fix it yourself

its not the power supply. your cpu needs to be reflowed

Sadly there isn't much the average user can do to fix this problem.

It's hardware related. You can try powering on the system with the hard drive removed, but it's VERY rare that will solve your problem.

The best thing to do is call up sony just google sonys phone number and choose the operations appropiate for your case and you'll get a technicain one the phone and they will tell you if you need to send it in to them to get it fixed.

with the playstation off put your finger in the on/off switch you will heard one bip ( this is when the playstation turns on) keep your finger there in the on/off switch ultil you hear a second bip now remove your finger and this second bip is when the ps3 video settings are reset it should work again on rca just way a few seconds and your will see the screen again on rca

did you have try to reset all the video settings ?? ok let's try that my name is Juan and I am here to help you and see if we can solve this with the unit off turn the main switch off on the back of the unit connect the HdmI cable to the unit and to the tv now place your finger on the front on/off switch and keep it there now turn the main switch on the back of the ps3 keep your finger on the on/off switch for about 4 seconds or until you heard one bip (but not the first bip when the playstation turns on ) ok so once you heard the bip after few seconds remove your finger from the on/off switch and this should make your hdmI to work again just wait few seconds for the signal to show up on your tv sometimes it takes about 30 seconds once you see the browser the system will ask you if you want to switch to hdmi click yes hope this can fix your problem and if it does please rate my help thanks

you have to reset the video setting and it will work again Hdmi is different on each tv so you have set this up again ok let's do this with the unit off turn the main switch on the back of the unit connect your Hdmi cable to your tv now place your finger on the front on/off switch keep your finger there ok now turn the mainswitch on the back of the unit the playstation turns on but don't remove your finget yet wait about 4 seconds or until your heard another bip (not the one when the playstation turns on) once you heard this bip remove your finger before the playstation turns off if you let it turn off try again all of this but if you remove your finger on time just wait few more seconds and bingo you have picture again using Hdmi

press front power switch to turn it on and hold for a few seconds, it will beep a few times and turn off automatically. now everything you setup for hd tv will be defaulted to normal.
