every user created on the OS will have to have different settings.....
before making changes...get the foll info from your internet service provider
IP Address, Subnet mask, Default Gateway, DNS server address both primary and secondary
once that's available.....
you can use different settings in in WinXP as below....
Control panel / Network Connection /Local Area Conn /Right click / properties/ Internet Protocol TCP IP / Check Box / Propertis / in IP address use the IP address that's been assigned by your internet service provider
log in to first user accunt and make the settings....for....
IP Address, Subnet mask, Default Gateway, DNS server address both primary and secondary
use the info obtained from the service provider.....
....then
in the IP address filed use some thing similar like this..(check your internet service provider for that info).....the foll is only an example from my PC
say....192.168.1.2 for user ONE
log out....
shut down and restart PC
log in to second user accunt and make the settings....for all the above fileds....then
in the IP address filed use 192.168.1.4 for user TWO....(note the difference of the last filed of the IP address....2 vs 4)...every new user a/c the last field of IP address keeps changing
1st user ....say 192.168.1.2
2nd user .........192.168.1.4
3rd user ..........192.168.1.6
etc...
