SOURCE: We just installed a Rheem 50 gallon water heater.

Listen close near any check valve that may be in the piping system, as well as the pressure relief valve on tank. It may be a check valve rattling, but you normally will only experience that when water is flowing in and out of the system.

Every electric water heater I have ever installed makes a low hum while heating. I believe this is a combination of the current going through the elements and the minerals in the water cooking on the elements. That is the best explanation I have. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have an older Jacuzzi

I have the same problem. I talked to Jacuzzi technical support and they said that they don't sell a product that will retrofit (they make the couplings a custom size to prevent this.) It's really a drag since I really don't want to install a whole new tub just to maintain water temperature. I haven't given up so if you found a solution please post.

How to install new pool heater

Shut the pump down. Open the lid on the pump to allow into the system. This will drain the plumbing lines at the equipment. Drain water from heater by removing drain plugs(usually 3) Shut the gas valve off to the heater and undo the union that is usually after the valve(recommend gas fitter doing this and he should reattach any piping or rethread new cut pipe. Cut or disconnect water lines from and to the heater. Remove old heater Install new heater in location and reconnect water lines to appropriate side of the headers(water inlet and outlets for heater). Gasline reconnect via gas fitter. Light pilotand restart pump after filling with water and repriming

I have a Bosch Water Wizard 960 400 NG. How do I adjust the water temperature??

In New Zealand, the Bosch 960 Water Wizard has a maximum temperature of 55 degrees celsius, for safety reasons, check with your local gas fitter or plumber to see if your system has been set correctly. If water feels hot through some taps in the house, but not others, then there is a good chance your water pipes are not insulated, meaning that the heat from the water is escaping out through the pipes before it gets to the shower, for example. As far as I am aware, there is no way to manually adjust the water temperature of a Bosch 960 Water Wizard, it has to be done by a certified professional gas fitter. Recommendation: Get a more up-to-date gas water heater, that doesn't require a manual restart each time the pilot light goes out.

I have an older Jacuzzi with 4 corner spa jets. There is no inline heater in it. Since it takes about 180 gallons of water to fill it I would like to add an inline heater so that the heat can be maintained...

Getting a FL4 service code. hot service igniter problem. cannot get heater to ignite.

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Follow the two wires with inline fuses in them down to below the burner tray. The ignitor is at the end. Is it damaged or missing the metal tip? Check the fuses as well. You will likely find the fuses blown and the ignitor damaged. Replace both and you should be back to heated water in no time.

Spa does not heat

Probably the same question but just in case...

First, test to see if power is getting to the element lead posts. You should have 230 VAC there if the heater is trying to work. If so, your element is bad and will need to be replaced. If not you will need to determine if a limit switch is tripped or bad, if the pressure switch is closing, and if the inline fuse has blown. Any one or combination of those failures will cause the heater to remain off.
