Possible vibration of the seat washer caused by the mains pressure sounds like a pitched squeal and varies with flow rate
if so get a tap reseating tool and recondition the washer seat and fit a new washer
or about the same cost fit a pressure regulator to the mains inlet pipe to reduce pressure to the van

My frigerdare affinity with not come on. Only makes aloud buzzing noise what do I need to do?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(this is pre-typed for hot and cold fill washers!)

From your description it could be that the buzzing is coming from one or other of the water inlet valves so-
If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,

Cold Water fills VERY VERY slowly (i.e 2 hrs to do a load)

It is an easy job, as the valve and solenoid mechanism are what the cold and hot water hoses connect to (at the back of the machine) and tilting the machine forward, and maybe removing a cover you'll have easy access to the switching valve (at least on most of the washers I've worked on the valves where easily accessible),
You can tilt the washer forward and take a look for yourself before you decide to proceed.
Good luck and happy DIY.

THE SCREEN SHOWS IE

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
An IE error code will appear if the washer has not filled with water in approximately 8 minutes. If an IE error code appears on the washer, check to make sure both hot and cold-water taps are open completely. After both valves have been opened, unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.
There are filters on the inlet hose connections of the washing machine. They are intended to filter away mineral deposits from hard water and other debris from getting into the unit. If clogged, water will not flow through these filters into the washer. Turn off both the hot and cold water taps, disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the washing machine, and clean the inlet filters gently but thoroughly.
If the inlet hoses are not attached to the machine correctly, it will prevent proper water flow to the washer. Turn off the hot and cold water supply then disconnect and reconnect the inlet hoses. Ensure that they are threaded properly. After the hoses have been reconnected, open the water taps completely, check for leaks, and unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.
And finely if all of this does not work then the inlet valve on the machine needs to be replaced ok?
Hope this all helps

Why is my front loading kenmore washer making a very load high pitched noise when the water is filling into the machine? model #796 40311900

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Here is an extract from my 'poor cold fill' guidance notes- worth following! Otherwise it could be the inlet valve not opening completely- maybe due to calcium?

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB giving incorrect voltage to the valve ;-0(

Why is my machine flashing a tap sign and stopping?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
Turn off the water at the wall connection and remove the water hoses from the inlet water valve. Remove the inlet screens and wash them under slowly running water by rubbing your fingers over them. Reinstall the inlet screens and re-connect the water hoses to the machine. Remove the hoses at the wall connection and make sure the installer has not installed inlet screens on the hoses. If there are inlet screens on the hoses also clean the inlet screens. Then reconnect the hoses.. turn on the water and test for leaks then test the machine.

This should get you going unless you have relly low water pressure in the home.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

I have no hot water only cold. Taps are on, and when turned to hot water wash, only cold water comes out

check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, completely replace it.

Our machine works fine, but the water just trckles in when it adds water for the rinse cycles. It can take 20 minutes to fill the tub.

Check to see if there's good water volume coming through the hoses attached to the washing machine. If there is, check to see if the screens inside the water-inlet valve are clean. If so, you should completely replace the valve. Replace the water valve with this part.

NOT FILLING THE WATER

Is there a faint buzzing or humming noise coming from the water-inlet valve? (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If you can't hear anything, the water-inlet valve may not be getting any power. If you can hear some noise and there's water present, you may need to completely replace the water-inlet valve.

Whirlpool top load washer makes noise on filling

Its mainly caused by back pressure when the inlet valve suddenly shuts off the water to the machine. The pressure causes your plumbing pipe work to shake inside the walls.

You can turn down the pressure by closing your water tap and only having it slightly open. Or you can get pressure limiters which join on the hose.
