Question about Apple iPhone Cell Phones
My Apple ID was set up by my deceased boyfriend. I have been using his Id/password for 4 years (that's when he passed away) and i have not had any issues. Now for some unknown reason the account is locked. The only way to unlock it through apple is forgotmyid or something like that. It gives me two options-answer 2 security questions or have a link sent to a recovery email. Well he set up this account well before we met, therefore I cannot answer the questions (ex-1st childhood friend). I have NO WAY of knowing that. Also he never told me his recover secret email address or password. I have spoken with Apple now for probably 5 hours in total. I was asked to prove that I purchased my current phone and his ***** certificate. I did that. I was led to believe that would be sufficient. I recd call from a super super super super supervisor stating the only way to recover account is back to square one; either answer security question or go to recovery email. The main issue is I don't want to start my own account. It is imperative that all the information on my phone (from the original account) remains. I have pictures, texts, contacts, private memories that I refuse to erase. Please tell me some alternative method to regain access to my account? I am currently awaiting a call from a ever further higher up supervisor, but expect him/her to say I only have the two options mentioned above to unlock ID. Please help me keep his memory alive Thank you
Sorry for your loss.
When it comes to AppleIDs, Apple does a pretty good job making sure they stay secure. Its one of those situations where if you don't know any of the information there isn't anything they can do because they can't get into the account either.
If you need the pictures off of the device you may need to import them to a computer in order to keep them safe. You may have to take screen shots of the messages that you want to keep and import them as pictures also.
There is a chance that his email was hacked and someone tried to access the account too many times and thats why the account became locked.
i wish i could give you a way to fix this but honestly without the info there are not many options. I hate to say it but the best option would be to get the account removed off and start fresh or it will be an ongoing problem. if you get a new phone you would have been forced to answer the security questions sooner or later
