Question about Electrolux Dishwashers

Electrolux EI24ID30QS Dishwasher over fills, and eventually trips the float in the tray below.

I cleared out the water at the bottom as the motor was running constantly. I pushed the float down and it stopped the motor. That part I figured out. Now, where is the water coming from. I noticed when I ran it again that the water continued to fill. Is there an overfill float somewhere? If so, where? I have very limited access to this machine. I can't see anything on the right hand side where the drain motor is.

That float switch is sticking, a common issue. Do this, pull the float and shaft out and reinstall several times to free up the micro switch that turns off the water supply valve.

    I am not sure where to find that float. I looked it up on line, but can't seem to find out where it is located in this machine. I can see the float in the pan that prevents the machine from leaking...that one is working as it is supposed to. I have see pictures of other machines and the float you are talking about, but I don't see anything like that. Can you tell how to find/access it for this specific machine?

Not sure if this is same as my (older) dishwasher, but mine has a float switch ( a piece of styrofoam which triggers a microswitch) which sits in the bottom pan. As soon as any water accumulates here, the pump keeps running. I then get error code 30.

Dishwasher will not fill with water
Hi,

If there's no water entering your dishwasher, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Float switch
Water-inlet valve The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

Float switch The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.

Take the drain hose off the machine and look at the pump outlet for an obstruction. While the hose is off, be sure the hose is clear of any remaining debris .

Fault code 30 has come up on my dishwasher how do i fix it
-30 is a leak in the system and is filling up the drip tray at the bottom. The float is attached to a micro switch and will halt the program and start the pump to drain the washer. You can tell by feeling in under the tray for water.

Electrolux ESI 602 will not fill with water
The float better be inside the tub, at the bottom, it usually only travels a couple of inches up and down... you may have a protective cover in the way of it.

Bosch dishwasher: won't fill with water
The flood switch is tripped. This is located under the unit. Unplug or flip the breaker to the dishwasher, take off the black kick plate under the door, 2 screws, and you will see the white plastic "pan". The flood switch is located where you can't really see it but it is on the left hand side wall and is made of styrofoam. The best thing to do is to put some rags in the pan, this is not easy because there is little room to put them, and soak-up the water that has filled the pan. Eventually you will get enough water out that the float will deactivate the switch. What you hear "running" when you turn it on is actually the drain pump, it get activated when the flood switch is tripped.

Cycle starts but water doesn't fill past heating elements.
I think that the problem is the water inlet valve if the machine is not filling at all.

If the machine is not filling to the correct level, it may be the float switch.

Water leaks into bottom tray when filling
dear batties,
Such water filling problems can be generally solved by checking the following
  • Inspect the seals for the main tub, float, heating element and blower diffuser
  • Check for overfilling
  • Inspect the water and drain hoses
  • Inspect the door gaskets
  • Check the water inlet valve
  • Check the pump
Also for the mid cycle problems check the following

Bosch SHU4300 Water Fill Issue.
Similar problem for us turned out to be water accumulating in the tray which set off the float switch.  I vacuumed the water out and function returned to normal.  However, we are now facing a repairman's assertion the clay in our well clogged the water inlet systems necessitating $285 in repair parts and labor.

Hi I've got an electrolux integrated dishwasher two years old we put it on a cycle but opened the door half way through to get plate out but forgot to shut the door when we came to use it next day it won't start a program I've checked the door switch and it's working ok when you select a program then shut The door it knocks the washer off and you have to press the power on off button again but nothing happens when you try again any ideas would be appreciated
