What laws are congress exempt from?

Quite a few. They are exempt from the Affordable Care Act, they are exempt from SEC insider trading laws, they have exempted themselves from gun regulations in the past as well. Then of course there are quite a few Constitutional constraints on the Federal Government that Congress finds convenient to completely ignore. For that list, just read the Constitution; if it says the Federal Government cannot do it, you'll find that they are doing it.

Exemptions for juryduty

You claim exemptions based on medical or accessibility grounds, but not on age alone.

This is for Canada, but it is pretty universal.

Where can California homeowners get the $70.00 tax credit

Jay not sure if this is what you are asking for ????????
I am guessing you are asking for a homeowners exemption with the county assessor for a principle place of residence ?
if this is the case
you need a BOE-266, Claim for Homeowners' Property Tax Exemption available from your county assessor
http://www.boe.ca.gov/proptaxes/assessors.htm

not sure if sacramento is california but the information may be the same for the rules that go with it

At what age can one be exempt fron jury duty in orange county, California

Q: Do I have to perform jury service if I'm over 70 years of age?
A: There is no age exemption for jury service. If you are 70 years of age or older, the California Rules of Court allow you to be excused due to a medical condition without a doctor's note. You must inform the court that you are not able to serve. Requests to be excused must be in writing and submitted to the Office of the Jury Commissioner prior to the prospective juror's service date. You may also submit a request for an excuse through the eJuror online application at www.occourts.org/ejuror , no later than
five days prior to the service date.

How can I renew my tax exemption number?

"Tax-exempt status" means that an organization does not have to pay state or federal income taxes. Once an organization earns tax-exempt status, it typically has annual filing requirements with the IRS to maintain that status. However, the process is not a renewal, and an organization does not necessarily lose its tax-exempt status if it fails to meet its filing responsibilities in a single year.

I order items for use with a non-profit organization and have a 501C-3 tax exempt number. How can I utilize non-profit eligibility and save on tax payment

You file a request with your state of registration/incorporation to get a sales tax exemption certificate. After you receive that, submit a photocopy to the vendors to have on their file. This allows them to not charge the sales tax. Some vendors will accept ust the certificate number and expiration date, others will require you to send them a photocopy. If you paid sales tax (after the certificate was issued) you can file a request for refund from the vendor by providing proof of excemption. Your state issued certificate is valid even if you are ordering from vendors outside your own state.

What was significant about the civil rights act of 1975? what did it accomplish?

Here you go:

" It prohibits discrimination based on age in programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. This statute is enforced primarily by the Office for Civil Rights in the Department of Education and does not cover employment discrimination. The 1975 act includes many exemptions. For example, it exempts age-based statutes enacted by elected bodies such as the minimum age to enroll in school. Because of the number of exceptions written into the statute, it has had limited impact."
