Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

I have a spaberry hot tub and there is a build up around the side of the spa. It is like an adhesive substance since it is sticky. How did it get there and how do I get rid of it?

I have filled and drained it twice but it continues to come back. I am using the tablets in a floater to add bromine. Is that the problem??

Back to my spaberry hot tub, we have followed all the directions to a t twice and still won't turn on, is there a reset switch? What are we doing wrong?

Hi Karen,

Is the motor turning on? Or no power at all when you turn it on?

I am going to assume that the power is on and the water is just not circulating. If this is the issue you could have an air lock. An air lock is common on a new tub or when you change the water. To remove it you just have to open one of the unions slightly to remove it and your pump should prime.

If in fact you are not getting power to your pump, check your fuse, plug, and cord to make sure they are all working correctly.

What do I do when 32 keeps flashing on the controller?

32 is the temperature that water freezes at in farenheight scale , the controller is telling you that y0ur tub is in danger of freezing up , as this will damage its internal parts and such if this occurs , also if this tends to be a false notice (proven by a separate probe) then it could be telling you that temp control device inside the controller is having a problem , and its warning you that your tub could freeze up

I have an intex spa. The air bag that connects to the air channel inside the tub has blown out the valve. What type of adhesive should I use to reseal it?

I would use some silicone, it's waterproof doesn't mold easily, and easy to take off if needed. But whatever you use let fully dry and cure before blasting it with water. But if that doesn't work there's mr sticky an epoxy that will cure underwater.

I have brown gunk sticking to the walls appearing to come from the pipes in my Spa

You have one of four possible issues in your hot tub.

  1. Mold
  2. Algae
  3. Hard water
  4. Calcium
The first thing you want to establish is if the problem is organic or non-organic, because the solution to the issue is different for both. If it is organic mold or algae then you need to drain clean and sanitize everything, tub, filter, hot tub cover etc.. and it may take more then one refilling depending on what it is. You could try and take a sample in a clear jar and put bleach in the jar. If the substance in the water disappears you know its organic.

If the issue is water hardness or calcium then you will need the corresponding chemicals to deal with these issue. We have a chemical called spa control that deals with water hardness. You may also want to use a a pre-filter when filling your hot tub to rid yourself of high content minerals in your water.

There is a leak and we can not find it. Any solutions

This may help?
Fill spa to highest level possible.
Heat to 100 degrees or higher.
Then, with your bare hand feel throughout the bottom rim and anywhere else you are able to: see if you can feel "Warm/Hot" water. Any "Cold" water is not the area of the leak, that water has "Travelled" there. The warmer the water, the closer you are to the origin.

Can I use vinegar in a hot tub as a descaler

I would advise against vinegar. It is a weak acid which may have an adverse affect on your plumbing, spa & jet surfaces even if you intend on draining the spa for cleaning.
I doubt it will be able to cut the mineral build-up anyway.

Here are two ideas Scale preventer or Jet Cleaner which work well on acrylic spa's. Just check with Roto-Dreamaker first to see if they will be okay on their plastic.
If you want to try something else before buying those try using a mild non-abrasive, non-sudsing cleaner with a soft cloth or nylon type scrubber to the build-up. Also try baking soda either option should be okay for the plastic.

The cause of the build up is not usually owner related but the water chemical composition in your area. Your local pool/spa store will have the best advice for your local water chemistry.

There are all manner of sticky stuff available and many available only to trade and industry and these of course usually outperform what is available domestically.

Besides the above there is a wide variety of silicones, polyurethanes, and adhesives available from retailers or trade outlets but in quantities too great for your task to be economic. What many people do have in a kitchen drawer is a latex based contact adhesive or a general purpose impact adhesive and a few blobs of either will suffice if the hose is first retained with adhesive tape while the glue dries.

Canadian spa haliburton hot tub.not warming up.were is the heater element and can it be checked.thanks

Do you live in an area that is prone to limescale build up. Is the pump pushing the water around as the element will not heat if there is no water flow around the tub. I had a similar problem and it was resolved by carefully taking the pump apart and giving it a good clean ( removing the limescale build up that was stopping it from pumping properly ).

Hot tub maintenance

there will be the same amount of basic maintenance on either spa. The difference will be in water chemistry. you definitely want an ozone generator on either spa. Both are awesome Mfg of spas. they both have been around since the 1980's
Ozone will keep the water cleaner, fresher smelling and reduce the total amount of traditional chemicals used in any hot tub.
There are many other solutions for taking care of water chemistry out there without using the traditional types.
some are all natural.
