My boiler displays a message lock out no flame ign.

What you are experiencing could probably be a malfunction with the computer part of the boiler. However, last January I had a similar situation. I kept on resetting the system and a message would come on. It warned me that there was no flame and I ended up calling a mechanical contractor to solve the issue. The cause of it ended up being that I hadn't been keeping everything well maintained and the system hadn't been able to properly read everything. It was explained to me that that was a good thing to get fixed as it could have led to potentially more hazardous issues. Gas Condensing Boiler High Efficiency Heating

Ultra high efficiency boilers have become one of the best buys in home heating. These high efficiency boilers have changed dramatically from the first pulse boilers that I had the privilege of installing twenty years ago. Today’s condensing boilers are much more reliable and will not shake and rattle the windows of your house like those old beasts did.

If you are looking to purchase or install a new boiler for your new or existing heating system then you need to look a condensing boiler to heat your home with. In the past twenty years the condensing gas boiler has evolved to be a reliable, very efficient way to heat your home.

Radiant heating systems with the right design feature can easily heat your home at temperatures that use just warm water. At these temperatures the water is pulling the exhaust temperature of the boiler to very low points. This gives you extremely efficient boiler operation.
The boilers of today are made to operate continually at temperatures of 100F or less. At these temperatures it is not uncommon to have the combustion analyzer give me readings of 98-99 % efficiency. To get these types of readings and still heat your home the heating system has to be designed to work at these temperatures.

The right condensing gas boiler coupled with the right heat transfer system to get the heat into your home the right way will give you the most efficient heating system possible with today’s technologies.

Do a bit of research and find a heating contractor that knows exactly how to install a condensing boiler with a radiant heating system properly. For your radiant heating system to perform well at these temperatures, your boiler will need to be installed in exactly the right way. There is not a lot of room for error when designing very high efficiency heating systems. To wring every BTU of heat out of the fuel that is being burnt means that you are also on the ragged edge of supplying just enough heat to the building to over come the heat loss of the building at any given time.

When firing the lochinvar knight boiler it went to "man reset high limit" on computer and says LOCK OUT !?!? is it air locked? the pump in on the supply side instead of the return side. does that make a...

This kind of Manual High Limit issue can most likely be caused by two things :

1) If it's a Knight XL (399MBH and up), it's equiped with a manual high limit with is located in front of the boiler, behind the front panel just under the display bezzel. It has to be adjusted and reset (with the manual reset button on the control display).

2) If your unit is NOT equipped with that kind of Manuel High Limit, this message means that there was a low voltage wire that was shorted to the ground. Either the flow switch or the thermostat wire. The 24v fuse located on the main control board burned to protect the components. Lucky, Lochinvar provide replacements in the small plastic bag attached to the connection board.

Hope this help. Even if i'm late.

Lochinvar The boiler is purging, ignitor is getting hot, but

This could be something as simple as a gas valve turned off. First check all the gas valves, (one inside the heater, one outside and one at the source.) Also if this is LP gas make sure that you have enough gas. It takes at least 30% in the tank before the heater will fire. In many places their may be an earthquake valve. If this fails it will shut the gas down to the heater. Their are many reasons the heater won't fire and the fellow who told you to change the board probally works for Lochinvar. You might want to have a repairman look at the heater first before you spend that money. Good luck.

Broken heat exchange in boiler leaking hot water onto pilot light

Maang, You are a year older than me, so lets see if I can point you in the right direction.(1) If you have access to the internet you should be able to find a manual for an "Ideal Classic Boiler".(I just did) but you'll need to print it out - 40 pages. (2) It is 12 years old and is past it's half life. You might consider a whole replacement boiler - installed by a professional contractor rather than replacing a cracked section of the heat exchanger. Any equipment is only as good as the installation and proper setup when it is new. (3) You should NOT be smelling any gas in the house, period - unless you have a leak. You may be smelling carbon dioxide which is from burning fossil fuels - escaping from the crack in the heat exchanger. (4) What happened to the "Warranty" ?. Before you blow yourself up, Don't try to light the pilot anymore. Call a legitimate contractor.

My lochinvar boiler is very slow coming up to temperature and turning off, runs almost continuously,it is running infloor heat, thank you

It sounds like your by-pass is shut tight and is forcing more water through heater than the heater will handel. You should open your by-pass 10-20% so the water moves slower through the heater and has more time to heat up.

I have a vitodens 100-w combi boiler and tried to turn the heating on just to give it a working as was advised. However, I have no heat coming to my radiators. The boilers seems to be working as my hot...

Here's the deal: If your Vitodens 100 has outdoor temperature sensing capability, either built in or via external aftermarket control such as Tekmar or other, and the temperature outside is above warm weather shut down (WWSD), then the boiler will not operate for space heating, but will operate to make Domestic Hot Water (DHW) only. Generally speaking WWSD is facoty set at 20*C, since this is normal room temperature so the boiler will not need to operate at temperatures above this number as it is warm enough outdoors to heat the house to comfortable levels.
If your Vitodens 100 does not have outdoor temperature sensing capability then you should check to see if your room thermostats are operational and calling for heat since the boiler is only responding to this on-off control based on room temperature. (turn up your room thermostats)
In both cases you need to make sure that your heating system's distribution pump and zone valves are operating correctly.
In any case you should be calling a heating contractor if you suspect that there is a problem with your boiler and/or heating system.
Good luck.
