My Sandisk Clip Sport (8 GB) is stuck / frozen in "CHARGING" mode. It won't power down; no change whether attached or not from usb port on computer. How do I reset and return to normal operation?

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

Looking at the display, slide up the power/reset switch on the left side for at least 15 seconds to RESET the player.

The battery is not charging


You can try and reset the player. resetting a Clip player: 1. Slide and hold the Power switch up for approximately 20 seconds. 2. Release the Power switch. 3. To turn the player on, slide the Power switch up then release instantly.
Some things to check for when your player does not act like its taking a charge.
USB Cable Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable that came with your player.
Computer in Hibernation mode Make sure the computer isn't entering hibernation or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be ON in order to charge your player.
USB Port 2.0 Make sure the player is connected to a USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems).
USB Port location Try plugging into different USB ports (i.e. USB port in the back of the computer); occasionally the front USB ports have limited power to charge up the device.
Battery Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery.
Latest firmware Depending on what Sansa player you have, make sure it's up to date with the latest firmware.
AC charger (optional) AC chargers (sold separately) have a 500-1000 milliamp max output, which provides much better charging ability than a USB port.

I'm having trouble charging new sensa. Do I need to do something special after attaching to modem?


modem? you mean USB port? well you may need to chage the USB settings I have XP and for it to charge i needed to have it at MSC mode. you can find the USB settings at the bottom of the settings menu

Computer won't recognize clip


Try checking the usb ports to make sure it is not have driver problems:
1. Go to the Windows Desktop, click on the "Start" button, and then click "Run" or "Start Search" if you are using the Windows Vista operating system.
2. Type the following text into the text box: "devmgmt.msc" Click OK.
3. Select your computer when the Device Manager window opens, and then select "Action" from the options at the top of the window.
4. Choose the "Scan for hardware changes" option from the drop down menu that appears.
5. Insert any USB device such as a mouse or flash drive into the USB port in question. Now simply check the USB device to see whether it is working in order to test the port.

If it is have driver problems. Go to http://www.sandisk.com/ and download the driver again.

My sanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player will not charge anymore. At least not on the computer I'm on. I have had it hooked up to charge for 2 days now and nothing. Why is this and how can I charge it?

Sansa clip wont power up unless hooked up to usb

Charging
To charge the battery, please follow these steps:
1. Connect the larger end of the USB cable into an available USB port on the

will show connected and the yellow charging indicator will appear.
The battery level indicator will blink while charging. You will not be able to

4. To stop recharging, simply disconnect the cable.

The sansa clip mp3 player has totally frozen up-stuck on fm radio


Press the Home button and see if it will go to the settings menu. If it will, change the USB Mode to Auto. If it won't, hold in the power on/off button for 15 seconds to reset the player, and try again.

When i connect my sansa clip 2gb it will not charge. it say connected and then goes off. I thought it was charging but when i checked it the battery had died what do you suggest i do to get it working...

Battery problem ???


Try the firmware upgrade first

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware.
