Question about Samsung Televison & Video
Loaded new software update on tv. When asked if I wanted to hear sound through my device i.e. Soundbar, I stupidly chose no instead of yes. And I didn't see the message that told me how to reverse that...now soundbar won't connect to tv. Help!

It's not going to do whayt you want. On the premise that you can't run a dedicated receiver to a dedicated receiver. One processor is not going to override another. The soundbar is a "self contained" closed system. Much like Bose products. I understand what you are looking for, it just can't be done with this product. Options: replace the sony soundbar with a passive polk soundbar or similar and keep the AV receiver or: Return the AV receiver and use the nice, but limited sony amplified soundbar. Hope this helps

SOURCE: tv soundbar with a 5.1 receiver
The Onkyo has a center channel pre-out that you can connect the sound bar to. How does the sound bar connect to the TV? Is it two rca jacks, 1 red and 1 white or black? What brand and model is the sound bar?

Feed the audio from the audio out on your tv to the receiver. Plug your sound bar into the speaker output of the receiver and you should be up and running. You will have to turn on the receiver and control the audio there. The TV may have a setting for external speakers that you need to turn on in the audio menu. Now this is the straight forward approach but there are many factors to consider. One example would be the amplifier output being compatible with your speaker so you don't blow the speaker or the amp or amp/receiver combo.

do u have red cable connect it to your tv and then to your settop box or what ever u have

If your Emerson TV has a digital coax output connector identified as such and your RCA soundbar has a digital coax input connector, you will have to purchase an appropriate cable and connect it. Some soundbars, such as Vizio, have left and right RCA audio inputs to match similar outputs on a TV set.

Testimonial: "Just saw your response. Thank you. the rca has left and rt with orange an d white connectors. the tv has the four color red, orange, white and blue. I can not get the sound to work. I purchased a digital audio coax but do not see a spot for this on the sound bar."
