Hi,
a 6ya Repairman can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Repairman (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Owners do I procure needles for brother 523n Overlocker please

Your manual should tell you what needles to purchase for your machine. Search for "Brother 523n needles" and see what comes up. Your local Brother dealer will have needles for your machine.

What sizes needle go in this overlocker the supplied ones don't fit.

Consult your owner's manual. It will tell you which needles to use in your machine. Some overlockers use a slightly longer needle so if you are trying to use sewing machine needles, they will not work.

Once you know what needles you need, you can search for them online--perhaps a vendor in AU will have them or check with a sewing repair shop.

Newhome 743D overlocker. What kind of needles does it use?

From what I can discern, Newhome was a Janome product. Perhaps these needles will work:

Janome Overlock Serger Needles 5 Needles per Pack

Is this similar to your machine? If so, then the needles above may work:
Janome Mylock744D Overlocker Serger

I found some Janome 743D manuals online but they all appear to be in the UK, or elsewhere.

My overlocker is skipping stitches, I have re threaded it and replaced the needles and oiled it, it is still skipping stitches. any ideas as there is nothing else in the manual to tell me what to do>

Check to make sure you have the right needles and that the thread and needles are compatible. Usually, coverstitch machines use a slightly longer needle than overlockers and sometimes people get them confused. Also, it might have something to do with the fabric you are overlocking. Try stitching a different kind of fabric and see if it is still a problem.

Needles on Overlock 760DE not moving up or down

Unless you have thread caught in and around your loopers somewhere inside the machine... then I would suggest that overlocker goes to a service repair place.

Thread wont overlock

When the thread breaks too often, try these, that goes for all sewing machines
1. Replace the needles,
2. Loosen slightly the tension of the needle threads.
3. The top threads are to thin,
4.The sewing (rotary) hook or looper, has burs,
5. Wrong threading

Bernina 1300 dc overlocker skipping stitches

Make sure the chain stitch thread is threaded exactly as it should be, make doubly sure the thread comes off the bobbin vertically and runs through all eyes smoothly. Any faults in the threading causes extra tension at the needle despite what the tension is set on.
If this is not the cause then the needle depth and the looper timing needs checking.
