Question about Sigma Cameras

Open Question

I have a 170-500 Sigma zoom lens and I need a scheme to understand how to mount it. It was disassembled by an unqualified technician and now he failed to mount it. Thanks.

SOURCE: sigma 600mm lens mount

You may be able to find a Konica toMinolta or Konica to M42 adaptor. Some adaptors are available...some aren't; it depends upon the film plane dist. and mount diameter. For instance you can get a Nikon to Canon adaptor, you can't get a Canon to Nikon adaptor. Email KonicaMinolta and ask them.

SOURCE: Sigma Zoom 20-200mm Zoom 1:3.8-5.6

The first thing I would do is clean the external lens surfaces then take some pictures. You may find that the blemish has no effect on picture quality. If that is the case, I would do nothing.

If it does affect your photographs, you will need to take it to a camera repair man. What ever you do, do not attempt to disassemble the lens yourself. You will not be able to get it back together and only add to the cost of repair. Check the cost of repair against the replacement value of the lens on E-bay and then make your decision.

Sigma 170-500mm f.5-5.6. fit on nikon d 200 ??? and i wild like to how good is this one 170-500mm

Sigma makes their lenses with a variety of mounts for a variety of cameras. A lens with a Canon mount, for example, will not fit onto a Nikon camera. Assuming the lens has a Nikon mount, it is fully compatible with the D200.

If you mean the 150-500mm, you can see a review at

In general, Sigma supertelephoto zooms have a pretty good reputation. However, only YOU can decide whether a particular lens is "good enough" for you.

How about a Sigma DL ZOOM auto focus 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 lens onto a Nikon D-40?

That particular lens should work on the D40 if it is made for the Nikon mount.
If not, you'd need an adapter to fit it to the Nikon mount. (i.e. if it is a Canon-type lens, you'd need a Canon-to-Nikon lens mount adapter).
You'd probably have fair luck selling it on eBay and buying the right kind of lens for your Nikon.

Its more like a distorted inner zoom barrel or sand and dirt inside  the inner barrel will need to be replaced or you need to dismantle and clean out
