I have an ecoquest fresh air purifier and the end of a red wire was corroded so I replaced the end with a new one, but the unit doesnt seem to be producing any ozone smell or sanitizing. It seems as if the unit is just blowing air. The only message I have on front is to change the bulb, but that has been on forever and the unit worked before with that message. Please help, I love this purifier.
That corrosion is oxidation for the lug connecting the grid plate.Metal contact fingers make contact on the plates metal grids. The same corrosion exists on those metal contact fingers and the plate itself. Clean the fingers, ensure good connections as the other wire connector spade for the other contact finger is probably compromised. You might de-oxidize the plate by soaking in pure white ammonia. At any rate,I agree about the quality of the machines and you might be faced with a small parts order from eco-quest.Do include the plate, a bulb and the bulb starter. I run 5 of these in a commercial setting and they are fairly enjoyable to work on.

I have a Fresh Air unit. I cleaned the unit and after I was finished it won't turn on at all. I did notice when I was 1st unplugging the unit the plug was kind of hard to pull out of the back of the unit. I verified the fuse and power cord are okay. The activator clip is depressed. What else can I check?? It's only about 2 years old. Thank you for any help! Kim
