Hello Mark,

There are many things that can cause a machine to not come on. Start from the basics and work to the hard. Check and make sure there is power to the receptacle, then power in at the machine where the main power connects to the power block inside. You'll also need to check the power switch and see if power is getting that far. If all that checks out ok, then you have a more serious problem that is not likely to be repaired through a few short messages. Also, do not attempt to diagnose anything unless you are comfortable and knowledgeable enough to work with live electricity.

Good luck,

I have a Lincoln Pro Core 100 wire feed welding machine; it is (5) years old. I use the machine often. A year ago I built a 5' X 20" barbeque pit out of pipe and attached a 2' X 2' X 4' smoker to it...

There is nothing wrong with your machine. The Pro-core100 is a 20% duty cycle machine; meaning: that will work for 2 straight minutes of welding and then needs 8 minutes to cool down.

Just allow the machine to cool down, turn it off and start again after the 8 minute cooling process.

Lincoln 135 PRO MIG Welder feed stops after a few minutes

1/4" plate with a 135 amp machine is probably beyond it's duty cycle abilites. If you are using a mixed gas, and pushing the max on the settings, it will be cutting out because it is designed to.
You might want to get a higher amperage welder for consistent welding of 1/4"
The 140 Pro maxes out at 5/16" using inner shield wire. and 1/8", or 10 guage with gas.

I have a Lincoln Weld Pak 100 that was working fine. I shut down the machine though and when I came back to it about 5 hours later the wire feed motor wouldn't turn anymore. Has anybody else had the same...

Check the voltage at the wire feed motor when the trigger is pulled.

I had a Weld Pak 100 that with 0 volts at the wire feed motor, and the problem wound up being that 2 of the big power (stud) diodes were shorted.

Welding machine stops working after a few minutes of welding.

there is probley nothing wrong its called duty cycle.which means that if you are welding long periods or welding at max amps the welder will kickout to cool down.Look on your unit for the tag that tells imformation about your unit.It will show something like 30% duty cycle so that means you can weld 3 minutes at full power before the unit shuts down.
