Unplug,
Remove the right hand plastic side panel.
Ground yourself to discharge possible static electricity,

How to reset my HP photo smart 8150 printer

Oh the PAINSTAKING things HP goes through to make sure you HAVE TO buy your ink from them.. I've always thought if HP put about HALF the time into building a better machine and lowering their supply pricing as they put into STOPPING you from using compatibles, they'd dominate the market...

Oh well, Brother and Canon are "quietly" dominating the marketplace, and soon HP will be where Honda for automobiles is today. Simply equal amongst other competitors.

Now onto the question, as I am digressing...

There is Soooooo many different methods, and honestly, once posted online, HP goes back to their drawing board and recreates updates to their machines and eliminates that method... That's why HP drivers always seem to be constantly upgrading themselves, while other printer drivers don't...

I suggest you go to YouTube and do a search through the many different videos. Honestly, what works today, won't tomorrow, so don't get discouraged if someone's post doesn't work. At one time it probably did and HP closed off that gap...

Just continue to search as YouTube always seems to have the latest and most up to date fixes for resetting HP items.. :)

Ink threshold exceeded

Sad to say I know how to fix this.
1. Power up the printer
2. set printer's date to the current day.
3. On the keypad press the * and # keys together
Now press one at a time 1,2,3 for the code
"screen stould display a white backround with 2 lines of info"
4. remove all the print cartridges
5. Press the >> arrow button twice until "reset menu" is found
6. Press OK
7. Select Partially full reset Press ok
( the printer will take almost to minutes before it powers down)
8. Power up the printer and follow the steps.
reinstall ink ect......

I don't know why this happens but I sure a lot of printers are in the trash because of this. If you print out a SELF TEST REPORT the
dates on the age of the ink Cartridges are likely out of life range.
Planned obsolescence by HP can be found all over the web. This could be one of those.

PRINT INK CARTRIDGE ALIGNMENT FAILED HP C6280

Hi,

If the alignment failed on HP Photosmart C6280, Try to check if any of the cartridges are low on ink. if so replace them and try to re-align

If that is not the issue, Remove the Cartridges from the printer and clean the contacts with lint free cloth and put them back in. The printer should go thru auto - alignment..

If this fails too, Press Cancel button on printer and Press the Menu button ( setup button ) and scroll to Tools menu - Press OK - Under tools option you will find Clean Cartridges - Press OK.

If this process too does not fix the issue, mostly likely your printer has gone bad. It needs replacement.

The best i can suggest you will be to Call HP support - 1-800-474-6836 and check best deal they can offer you on upgrade printer.

Suhail

Will not print cartridges out of date

I never heard of that for the C7180 all-in-one. Remove the ink cartridges. Dampen a rag with water. Slide the cartridges across the rag until you see ink. If yes, than good. Grab a couple of cotton swabs & drip a couple drops of alcohol onto a tip. Wipe the copper contacts off on the ink cartridges. Do the same to the contacts within the ink carriages. Replace the ink into the carriage.
From your computer, open Printer and Faxes. Make sure your HP C7180 all-in-one printer has a check mark next to it. If not, left click the C7180 once so its high-lighted. Than click "File" in the upper left corner of the window. Left click, "Set as Default printer". Than right click once on the C7180 & slide to & left click on Properties. In the next window click "Printing Preferences", Another window will open. Left click the "Services" tab. Click the "Service this device" button.
Than click, "Clean the Print Cartridges". When the printer finishes, click "Print a Test Page", button. (If you do not see ink on the test page than your ink cartridge are too clogged & you'll have no choice but to replace them).

Using the damp rag loosens possible clogged/dried up ink. Cleaning the contacts with alcohol removes oil from touching the copper contacts with your fingers, also removes dust. Always keep a cover over your printer when not in use. My current ink cartridges are at least 1+ year old. HP & other manufactures do use tracking software to monitor your ink cartridges in this fashion. If you remove an empty cartridge & re-fill it & replace the cartridge the software knows. Each cartridge has a tiny chip attached to it.
The internal software knows when you fill a ink cartridge & can shut down your ability to print. Forcing you to buy new ink cartridges. Below is the HP link for your C7180 printer.

8250 HP INK EXPIRED MESSAGE

I had same problem, and i solved it.
I opened my hp 8250 and removed it`s battery. It is located on left side of the printer, on the main board. You need to remove plastic covers , and then remove 3 screws holding board. You can move board just enough to get damn battery out of there. Now it works perfect!
I can send you some piccs if you need help.
