Changing numbers have no impact on your google account.
I recommend that you use a laptop or PC to ask for a new password. Just open a browser and type: google.com Then input your email address and click on forgot password. Google will ask you some security question. Once you have that sorted out, save the new password in a safe place, and use this very same information in your new phone. Best of luck.
go to Settings.
Click Change password recovery options in the 'Change account settings' section.
Click Add a recovery email address/a mobile phone number/security question if you don't have a recovery option already, or click Edit next to your current recovery option to change/remove it.
Click Save to make your changes.
Close the Google Account window using your browser's Close
Having a mobile phone number on your account is one of the easiest and most reliable ways to help keep your account safe and ensure that you can get back into your account if your account is taken over or you forget your password. Your mobile phone is a more secure identification method than your recovery email address or a security question because, unlike the other two, you have physical possession of your mobile phone.
Hackers target accounts without phones because they're easier targets. Add a phone and join hundreds of millions of other Google users who have helped stop hackers in their tracks.
