In some cases, the heat element lining wears out and the element shorts out to the chasis of the dishwahser, thus tripping your fuse.
In other cases, the dishwaser leaks water, and shorts out an electrical component.
It is best to get a repairer to check this out for you.

We just had a potentially dangerous problem with the same model. Only we found the wiring beneath the front door were fried. How do yours look?

Hello, Welcome to Fixya.. On bosch dishwashers the "1" is actually an error code and not coincidentally the reason it runs forever ( likely doesn't dry or clean well either right ? ). Here`s the most likely reason why it has detected the error... Even if your home water supply appears hot, it's not hot enough and must be heated by the dishwasher to insure a proper clean and dry, hence most if not all manufacturer`s do this. When it comes to your Bosch dishwasher the problem likely lye`s within`the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). To repair your unit It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit sit`s and eventually display`s the error "1" telling you it can`t heat the water. ( I can send you documentation directly from B/S/H/ confirming and explaining this if you'd like to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I should also add, some of your models have been included in a bosch voluntary recall...based on serial number as well as model ). **Further to this, if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on their behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?...unless it is indeed a recall effected unit )** **Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher** Installing a new control will certainly remedy the problem as well. But when it is priced at about $170.00 I am more likely to offer someone an alternative to buying new, hence my first reaction to mention this repair tidbit. The control is available at most brick & mortar appliance parts stores or on-line at vendors such as "repairclinic.com", "appliancepartspros.com", "searspartsdirect.com" etc. part number is based on your specific model number so you`ll need to provide that. Hope this answer`s your question's, let me know if I can assist you further. Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness to you and leave a testimony if you're satisfied. Good luck. Regards, Macmarkus :)

I think this board requires coding to your particular model?? your dishwasher has four selection button and a delay start, whereas the module has five selections and delay as it is used in several different modesl. The coding info should have been in the box with the part and may need to be carried out directly on the module with the fascia panel removed. If you post the part number of the module I will see if I can get you the coding information..
