SOURCE: husqvarna chainsaw repair

Usually empty fuel, use hook to pull out line , remove filter. Remove air filter cover and airfilter ,now you should be able to see line. Most just pull of carby and go through tank, some you may have to take screws out of av mounts in back of tank to see hole to put it back in.cheers hope this helps if where a stihl i could tell exactly.

SOURCE: how do i install the linkage from the carberator to the trigger on a montgomery ward 2.3 chainsaw

The linkage has a dog leg shape on the end that slides into the lever on the carburetor then the other end should have a clip.

I have taken apart the start trigger to check, whether the cable had come out and a spring fell out, how and where does the spring go back?

hey that's an electric lawnmower handle , you cant fool me posting this in the chainsaws section ,!!

the spring u mention it goes right back in center it holds two red handles away from switch (black thing in center) of course when your hands hold down on red handles it compresses spring and closes switch , motor brushes are most common cause of mowers not running

I have a Poulan 5020AV. The thing cuts wood like a woodchuck on crack! The problem I'm having is regarding the reassembly of the handle/trigger mechanism. I took it apart in order to remove/clean the carb....

Anytime I get into an unfamiliar saw I always take a number of pictures with the I-phone to help with reassembly. Not too much help is it?

It will only go together correctly ONE way. Do not force any of the parts as if you bend the carb linkage, you will forever have a problem with it. A hint: sometimes the parts have to be inverted and slowly twisted or turned back upright to install.

My 18 inch poulan chainsaw runs at full throttle

Check to see if the throttle lock is stuck on. If it is quickly squeeze then release the trigger to take the lock off. If the trigger will not spring back you have other problems with the linkage.

Engine stuck wide open , full throttle

It is possible your linkage arm fell off or there's junk blocking that arm from releasing - you'll need to remove the top cover and inspect the linkage arm for blockage or a missing cotter or compression pin. Remove said cover and look for the trigger linkage arm off the trigger assembly. follow to the carb, watching for blockage or missing pin(s). The natural vacuum of the carb should pull the accelerator to idle, unless the configuration ( linkage) is bent or blocked. With some saws, you may need to remove more then just the top cover, and some require the removal of the safety brake bar, which can be difficult as they usually have a hidden spring that like to fly away, taking other crucial small parts with it ( I have a saw that is now brakeless because of that mean little spring!). Depending on your level of mechanical aptitude, you may want to consider taking it to a reputable shop.
Hope this helps!!

Crafstman chainsaw at full power when started

If you had this apart, a few things may have happened. First the linkage from carb to throttle trigger maybe jammed between plastic housing or linkage may have come apart and throttle is in the full open position. You'll have to take this apart again and follow the linkage between carb and throttle trigger to ensure all is connected and moving freely and properly. Use care when putting housing back together.
