SOURCE: hoover will not suck carpet shampooer

the most common problem is the recovery tank. Most often the square piece of plastic that attaches to the side of the recovery tank is not snapped in-- it comes loose when you dump the tank. Take off the lid, pull the clear plastic sqare (about 4 inches by 5 ) that is attached on the OUTSIDE of the recovery tank and snap it back into place.
2nd make sure the rubber rim is clean and free of debris
3rd attach the lid with the hinges on the back first then snap down the lid
4th make sure the yellow float is down on the bottom (this is inside the filter inside the recovery tank)
5th put the recovery tank in the machine FRONT FIRST (where the two round peices of plastic are)then back, snap the sides back to lock the tank in place.
If these things dont work....make sure your not clogged with debris on the top (but I am sure you would have seen this before doing all the rest!)

SOURCE: Hoover steam carpet cleaner brushes dont spin

There is a plastic cover over the spinner indicator. If you take the plastic cover off there is also a little filter in that area (almost like the spinner is on the floor and the filter is on the wall). If you clean this filter it may start working again. I had the same problem before and it worked for me. I found the info in the user's manual for my model. Hope this works for you as well.

Rug doctor deep carpet cleaner leaks the clean water solution out the bottom so quickly I can only clean a very small section of carpet per tank. You can watch it pour out

You have a crack or hole in the container holding the clean water solution. Also check any hoses going in and out for integrity.

My bissell proheat 2x dual dirtlifter is not succioning very well then the carpet smells

We have several parts here for the Proheat 2X,
Proheat 2X Shampooer Shampooer Parts
It may be a clog in your tank, preventing the water being sucked back up. Check your tank and tubes for clogs or damage. Make sure the brush is still rotating and the belt is not broken too.

is it your own machine or a hire machine?

Your best bet would be your nearest rug doctor distributor or try ebay.

Rug doctor won't spray water

I had the same thing happen to mine. I looked at the hose in the water tank and the screen at the end if the hose was slimy and clogged. I took the screen off and cleaned it up, put everything back together and it works like new again. Only 2 screws and a screen.

Can't get Bissell carpet cleaner back together

I've purchased 2 of these both are broke again, although I may fix one again and give it away instead of throwing it in the trash. You can tell by all 10 pages on this site that these machines are just **** that is poorly designed. Just ordered a Rug Doctor Mighty Pro from Kohls with 30% off for $503. You won't even find 1 problem on this site on a Rug doctor. Also you can research them as I did and 98% of their owners was very satisfied, alot of whom used bissell prior to Rug Doctor. You will also see that the performance is way, way better and not even close on cleaning.......
