Check voltage coming from unit with a FENCE
voltmeter if voltage is in the5to6000v range probabley the meter is faulty youdoit.com

You need to replace the panel meter.If you hear clicking then it is 99% working.Just meter is not registering.

A BAD DEFROST TIMER CAN SHUT DOWN COMPRESSOR HAVE IT CHECKED WITH MULTI METER.

to check the defrost timer, u can get by and test manually by placing a small screw driver into the tiny slot or hole underneath the timer and turn slowly clockwise till u hear 1 click. this will engage ur defrost cycle in about 15 minutes u should be able to come back and feel the heat in freezer as it melts the ice providing ur terminator is not bad?
Another way to test it is with a multi meter. Remove timer it from fridge and you will see 4 prongs numbered 2,1,4,3 in that order. Place ur meter prong on prong 1 & 3 (if your fridge has a capacitor wired in series with the windings, then u check for micro fares rather than OHMS) If u cannot confirm this test, still try the next.
Take ur meter prong and connect to prong 1 & 4, it should read resistance or ohms ( closed) now remove prongs and place on prong 1 & 2, this should now read infinity or open (no ohms) now take a small screwdriver place it in the tiny hole or slot under the timer. Turn it clockwise slowly till u hear 1 click. Now ur 1& 2 should read closed ( showing ohms or resistance) now place meter prongs on 1 & 4 and you it should now show open ( or no resistance - no ohms) this is how u know ur timer is good, Remember when testing for ohms ADJUST meter to use a high ohms rating in the thousands as the resistance is very high in OHMS. And adjusting to low ohms rating may give a false reading or not show the proper resistance..


AT TIMES YOU MAY HEAR THE COMPRESSOR CLICK OFF AND ON OVER AND OVER. Signs of a bad start relay or capacitor. Check with an OHMS meter for continuity (ohms) and voltage, capacitor can be checked for Microfares.
To check ur compressor with multi meter:
Disconnect and remove the relay and capacitor from compressor, somes located next to compressor in a casing.

You wills see 3 prongs coming out of compressor. 1 goes to ur srtart winding, 1 goes to ur run winding and the center goes to ur ground.

Place ur meter connector or prong on the start prong and the other on the ground (center prong) take note of the reading in OHMS for example 5 ohms.
Next place meter prong on run prong and the center ground prong agin. Take note of the reading in OHMS. Example 4 ohms

Next place meter prong on the start prong and the other on the run prong, now take note of the reading example 9 ohms. Now match the total of this ohms test with the total of ur two separate test. 9 ohms, if they match ur ok give or take 5 percent plus or minus. One more test to make to test of there is a short in compressor attach meter prong to ground prong and rub the other end of meter prong to metal ( scrape the metal clean of paint and test on metal surface not painted surface. If it shows continuity or ohms , u have a short in ur compressor. It should show infinity

I have a Parmak Model DF-SP-LI. With a volt meter it reads 2.3 on the fence, but the performance meter is always reading beyond the green.


It depends on the type of fence tester. the common light-o-meters are a resistor ladder, calculated not only for voltage but current. the DF-SP-LI uses half the lowest current most are designed for. no if that is a digital or analog meter, then it would be time to check the out put from the charger with out the fencer connected. if you get the same reading it maybe defective unit. if you get a better reading then you will probable need to upgrade your ground system. insuffencient ground will show its self as a low out put on the fence but not on the charger.

I would suggest starting with the battery. Put it on a battery charger over night and take it to your local parts store the following day. I have had meters read 13.8 volts on a battery only to find out that it was done.

When I plug in my Jet 3 Ultra 4500, it seems to charge - the charging lights come on - but it never charges. In fact, I can't get it to move at all, even when plugged in. I think I am using the...


when you plug in the charger do you get any amp reading on the meter located at the rear of the chair near where the charger cord plugs into the chair. When you plug in the cord the meter should deflect and read 6 amps or so. If you aren't getting any deflection of the amp meter then either the batteries are dead or the charger is bad. If you have a voltmeter you can set it to 200 volts dc and plug the leads into the charger port located under the front of the joystick Plug the leads into the 2 outter holes of the port with the charger plugged into the wall you should be reading 27-30 volts. Unplug the charger and you will be reading the battery voltage and fully charged they should read 25-27+ volts. If you aren't reading 25-27 volts without the charger plugged in you will need new batteries( anything less than 10 volts will not let the chair turn on) if you aren't getting 27-30 volts with the charger plugged in then the charger is bad and you can get or borrow an off-board charger and charge the chair thru the joystick port Hope this helps

Cathey when you plug in the charger look at the rear of the chair at the meter if the chair is charging then the meter will indicate some amperage reading when it is fully charged the meter will read zero. Also turn on the chair and if the lights are scrolling or flashing it shows that the charger is plugged in. Now if after the meter reads zero (if it ever does) the lights on the joystick should all be lit indicating a full charge. If you aren't getting all the lights and the meter indicated the charger was working then you need to replace the batteries Hope this helps

weel two thinga could be the cause bad batteries or a bad charger, If you have a meter you can set it to 200 vdc and plug the leads into the 2 outer holes of the charger port located on the joystick it will read your battery voltage and should not be below 16 volts. with the same meter have someone hold the charger plug and with it on read the output of the charger across the two outter pins careful not to touch the center pin with the leads it should read 27-30 volts if it is working Hope this helps

I don't think the charger is working


This concern will require a volt/ohmn meter. If I am not mistaken, this scooter requires two 12 volt batteries wired in series. That is, the positive post of one battery connects to the negative post of the other and vice versa. This then constitutes an operational voltage of 24 volts. On most scooter chargers there are 3 pins that plug into the scooter to charge the batteries. On mine, the pin in the center pin is "ground". However, it is easily identified by setting the voltmeter to ohmns reading (a horseshoe shaped symbol) and doing what ever dissassembly is necessary to reach the scooter side wiring then touch one lead of the meter to either of the negative posts and the other to the exposed wires until the meter reads 0 ohmns or very close to this. This is the charger ground. Then set the meter to read DC voltage. Disconnect the charger from the scooter. Place the black lead on the meter on the identified ground of the charger and the red lead on either of the other two leads. There should be 12 volts either location. If there is not. the charger may be the problem. If there is, the batteries could have an internal problem and any auto parts store will happily check them for you.

Light signial going off and on no interior lights and wont start can hear a clicking sound


Problem is first that either your battery is not well connected (clean terminals,) or, battery is low on charge either failing from age or not being charged by charging system.(charge battery and test with volt meter) After correcting that, put a volt meter across the battery with the vehicle running.
Voltage should read near 13.5 volts or slightly better but not over 14.
Voltage running with all accessories on including high beams should not drop below 12.5. Jumping from another vehicle may get it started but no matter how long you run it, it can never re-charge the battery (not designed for that) and can actually destroy your alternator. Use a battery charger.

Batteries won't charge


Test your charger with voltmeter. If you get reading on meter, then battery needs to be replaced, if you do NOT get reading on meter, then charger needs replaced

Schumacker battery charger problem?


You are charging. The meter corresponds to the level of charge in the battery. Try setting to 10 A for 4 hours, battery should be half-way up. To determine if battery id dead.. leave battery off charger once it is fully charged...test with a voltmeter after 10 min.....battery should still be above 12v...after1 hour it should still be above 12v...if not battery is spent.
