Question about AEG Washing Machines
I have an AEG Lavamat 62800 wash machine that was working perfectly till I overloaded it and it seems the motor will not run. Have drained and unloaded and tried another light load. Fills with water but then goes no further. Where the drum would normally turn a few times, there is no movement, just a soft click click roughly one second apart. Drum not jammed, belt in place, motor spins freely. Drain pump also clean and spins freely. There are no codes displayed. Do I need to reset or something?

SOURCE: Drum not turning (WFL 2260)
possibly the belt is off/broken? can you hear the motor turning when the drum is supposed to be revolving? If not supect the motor carbon brushes, or some other fault with the motor/and /or circiut, at best it may be a burned out wire to the motor

SOURCE: AEG Lavamat 64810. No error
The fault has been described well by you and it is confirmed that the motor is not running. Now eventhough you have mentioned a clean chit to the control panel I would like you to take a voltage check on the motor when it is in wash cycle.
If the power comes on and there is no motor action then it is confirmed that the motor is fauly. But if there is no output of the voltage to the motor from the controller, the it is possible that the controller is faulty.
If motor is humming and is of single phase type, check the capacitor and replace if motor is humming and not running.
.I am sure you can sort this out having come this far.
Hope my tip helps

Remove the back panel of the machine and operate it to check that the drive belts are being engaged to drive the drum. Observe the operation from a safe distance when you have the back off as there are live terminals within reach and you could be severely shocked if you come into contact with any one of them. Unplug the machine again before checking anything withing the workings.

Are you saying it is draining the water properly? Because it sounds as though the pump is faulty. Every now and then you get pup motor that don't short out or stop completely they just don't drain we'll anymore. The drain period on your machine is timed so a slow drain may cause the error. So even though everything is clear and 'working' the pump needs replacing. Another cause would be a false reading from the pressure switch(level switch) but you would normally have problems with fill etc also, so unlikely.
