If this is the first time you have tried starting it after gas sat in it for a few months, you most likely have a strong battery, but a gummed up carburetor. You can always start simple: change out your gas filter, loosen the screw on bottom of carb and drain out all gas, then tighten it back up and put in gas with some SeaFoam and cross your fingers. If that fails to work, you may have to remove your carb and clean out the jets. This video may help with that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cViIbkt7M3w

try taking an insulated screw driver and jumping across both terminals on the solenoid, if the engine turns over, the solenoid is bad and will need to be replaced

Change the solenoid, if you can jump the posts on the solenoid and the engine turns over...the solenoid is bad
