Usually buffering occurs when your internet provider cannot keep up with the streaming speed. If the connection to the internet is via a hard wired LAN cable, the problem may be because of a lot of traffic.

First solution is to reboot your cable modem and router

Another cause would be that the internet pathway between your TV and the streaming source, which has many node points may not be a fast one. The usual solution is to reestablish the connection . This may involve logging out and logging back in.

If your connection to the internet is by WiFi, the usual problem is that your wireless router is not fast enough and must be replaced by an updated and faster wireless router

My Netflix on my g3phone always have buffering stopping the movie every 5 seconds. Why is that. And can it be fixed.Thank You

It is allways buffering, because of your phone network limits the amount of download speed you can recieve at one time. To fix this, simply log into a hot spot, or a wifi router with higher speeds. Your buffing should stop.

How to stop buffering

If you are talking about the internet and a web movie that says that it is buffering, the major issue is your internet speed. Video streams to your computer and your player attempts to play it. When the feed is slower than the movie player, the play pauses to let the internet catch up and you get that error.

My series keeps stopping while I am watching it

It's buffering. Perhaps it's the bandwith. I know my little hotspot sputters out when I try to use Netflix. I watched a 2 hr movie in 5 hrs (I wish I was exaggerating). Try testing your connection speed. You want no less than 15 bps (bits per second). My hotspot (that I finally chucked) had the average speed of 1 bps. Just google "Connection speed tester" and pick which ever one you like.

How to stop buffering

  • 1 Allow the movie to load completely, or at least halfway, before you start to watch it to stop video buffering.
  • 2 Start the movie and then hit stop until the movie has fully or halfway loaded. As the movie is loading, you should see a yellow or gray line. The line you see will get longer as it loads.
  • 3 Close all windows that you don't need. Having too many windows open will slow the loading process.
  • 4 Resume play once the movie is at least halfway loaded or fully loaded. By this time, you should be able to enjoy the movie without the video buffering or constant starting and stopping.

How do i get my flash player to stop pausing every 2 seconds

Flash Player is a software for viewing animations and movies using computer programs such as a web browser. If you encounter that your flash player pauses every 2 seconds, maybe that is not an error. Maybe, the video that you are watching is just buffering. My suggestion to that is just click pause first and let the video buffer. Once it is completed loading play it. But if it is still pausing, you may uninstall it on your computer and install an updated flash player. You may use this link to download the latest flash player:

When I go to play a video It will play for a few seconds, stop, than play and it continues to do so.. what do I need to do to fix this problem?

This might be due to a slow internet connection. See, for smooth playback, the part of the movie your computer wants to show has to be downloaded already - it has to be "buffered". If you have a slow internet connection, the speed at which your computer can download a movie might be slower than the actual time it takes to watch what's being downloaded. That's why your movie will stop, wait until another part of it has been buffered, and then recommence.

I downloaded an update (BD.808.544.B) on Sunday, 2/20/11 and since then I cannot stream movies on netflix. The message on each attempt is "Sorry, this title cannot be watched instantly at this time....

I had a similar problem. Mine would take about 30 seconds just to detect the connection speed, then would take about 3 minutes to buffer the movie. After about 3 minutes of playing, it would stop and buffer about 3 more minutes of the movie, play for 3 minutes, then stop and buffer about 3 more minutes, etc.
I noticed on another thread that people were disabling BD-Live to resolve other issues, so I tried that and it seems to have solved my problem. You might want to give it a try. Under Setup -> Network -> BD-LIVE connection - set it to Prohibited and give it a try.
I guess you only need BD-Live enabled if you have BluRay discs and want to access the online extras.
