some seat heaters have thermostats-could be a bad thermostat and finally it burned out. also check your fuses first

Tip

Kerosene heater maintenance

In order to keep the wick clean on your kerosene heater it is necessary to let it run out of fuel and burn itself out every so often. This will burn off the accumulated resin left in the wick and make it burn nice and bright again without smoking.

2004 Chrysler Voyager, had an acrid burning smell and a lot of smoke when heater is turned on, also a rattling/squealing noise, all stops when heater turned off?

you more than likely have a sciezed air con compressor. most modern cars have climate control which uses air con even when demisting and when engaged the electric clutch tries to engage but the pump itself will not turn, clutch will get red hot and burn your belts

The heater ignites well, but if it gets a clear blue flame (and it burns very quiet), the thermocouple will glow red and the heater stays on, but when it gets a opaque blue flame (it makes a sound when...

I would start by replacing the thermocouple. It is suppose to keep the gas valve open when in operation. If the mercury in the thermocouple dries out it won't keep the gas valve open and thus the flame goes out. If that does not work then you have a gas valve problem.

My Dimplex model #6901470100 (purchased new in 2007) just stopped working. It was on then just turned off by itself. Both lightbulbs are OK. What would cause this?

It probably overheated and the overheat module shut the heater down. It may reset itself once it cools down. Or the heating element has burned out. There are a host of issues with these electric fireplaces (not just Dimplex). They are sold as a decorative, supplemental heat source, but in fact, if you get more than a years use out of it without a problem, you're probably the exception. The heaters just aren't meant to run for a long period of time. It's like turning on a blow drier and letting it run for an hour. Nine times out of ten the blower driver will overheat and burn out.

I really wish I had better news for you (I answer this type of question at least 5 to 6 times a week), but I don't.

The only good news would be, if it's still under warranty (one year), have your Proof of Purchase and contact Dimplex USA. Technical Service: 1- 888-346-7539. Customer Service: 800-668-6663

The entire evaporator coil is frozen and heaters will not come on. Mark Edens

The common failures is the heater itself goes bad, or the defrost timer fails if you have an older model. Check the heater and defrost thermostat with an ohmmeter to see if it has opened up or burned out. If you have an older refrigerator, check the defrost timer operation. Often the timer motor does not advance and it will stay in compressor operation and never turn on the defrost heater. Turning the cam until it clicks should turn the heater on and run the heater for about 30-45 minutes. If it does not turn on the compressor after an hour, then you should have the timer replaced.

DO NOT USE this heater until you have an expert look at it . Propane or Natural gas heaters that are not burning properly can and will emit C.O. (Carbon Monoxide) a deadly gas . When C.O is produced , although odourless in itself , does have a very strong burning type odour that comes from Aldehydes that are also produced along with the C.O.

Estate dryer will not get hot in any cycle, also will not turn off by itself

Unplug dryer before testing.

For your symptom the problem usually is the heater coil burned out. Inside rear cover in a can on the right side. A burned out coil will prevent heating and in the automatic cycle the timer will not advance if the heater is out. You can verify this by using the timed cycle. In timed dry the dryer should turn off even without heat.

Dryer will not start. .

if you got proper voltage to the machine, and the door latch is closing next step is to ck thermos and heater. TURN OFF POWER, remove 2 5/16 screws from bottom panel and the heater plate is located on back wall left side. 2 5/16 screws also remove this assy from rear wall (makes it easier to troubleshoot), both thermos o that plate should have continuity, as well as the heater coil itself, any one not showing cont. is the problem(sometimes the wire itself just burns off the heater terminal itself.
