First of all check the printer with another outlet..... this is to eliminate any faulty power outlets....
if it repeats the same problem.... try changing the AC adaptor.....

It's possibly (/hopefully) just the fuse in the plug (on the power cable) which has blown

Were there any thunderstorms with lightning in the area that may have damaged the adapter? You can call the Dell Spare Parts Department at 1--800-357-3355 to order another power adapter if after u found ur adapter is the culprit....
ge back to us without rating if u need any more help...
good luck

in that case the only possible explanation wud be a burnt out capacitor or blown out fuse in ur power circuit board inside ur printer......

if ur printer is not under warranty.... you wud be required to open the printer and inspect the board manually ... check the fuse still has conductivity.... if its blown replace it... and also look for any potential loose solder connections..... since these are electronic components there is a possbility of solders going out of place.... there shud not be any short in the board.... use ur ohm meter to check the terminals for a 0 ohm reading..........

if ur not comfortable doing this work or if u still have ur warranty ... i wud advice u not to to open the unit and call DELL .... opening the unit when its under warranty will void ur warranty.....

if u require to replace any burnt out components check out the specifications of the component and get them at a local electronics store.... ordering them online and having them ship tiny parts like caps and resistors and fuses is not cost efficient.....

    good luck with ur fix...

    Thank you for Using FixYa...

    Have a nice day...

PS: make sure u ve unplugged everything before ur venturing inside the unit.......

  • SAM JAYANTH CHANDRASEKAR

it cud very well be the AC power block thats why i asked u to check with another similar power block just incase......

get ur friends or colleagues if they have a similar one.... if u dont have access to one.... its better to get a new one... power blocks getting warm cud indicate something melting inside....

My printer is hp deskjet 4625 fls advice me. there is a problem with the printer or ink system. turn printer off, then on. if problem persists, contact hp error. 0xc 19a0022

You may try to reset the printer. I was not sure if you followed these steps and unplugged the power cord. That may fix your problem. Good luck this can be very frustrating.
In some cases, a printer reset can clear the error message.
  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
  9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

No power lexmark t630 printer

If the printer does not appear to be getting power, try the following:

  1. Make sure the printer switch is currently turned to the "on" position. If it is, switch the printer off.
  2. Unplug the power cord going into the back of the printer and look for any damage to the plug.
  3. If everything looks fine, plug the power cord back in. Make sure the plug goes all the way in. Also make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not through a surge device or power strip. If the printer is already connected directly to a wall outlet, try it in a different wall outlet.
  4. Power on the printer again. Watch the printer screen as you do so and see if it comes up as expected.
  5. If the LCD screen still does not come on, switch the printer off and on again. After turning it on, listen to it for one minute. It normally goes through a short warm-up sequence where it sounds as though it is going to print out a page. This will tell you if any part of the printer is getting power. If the printer makes absolutely no noises on power up, it will probably require service.
For further assistance, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support.

My printer won't turn on. I have tried turning everything off and back on but it still won't turn on.

There is only one way to find out if it is an issue with the printer or the Power cord or Power Adapter.

Normally every HP printer has 2 parts. One cord connects the Printer to an Adapter. the Adapter cord then connects to the Wall outlet.

Now that you have connected the printer to working outlet, Check after 10-15 mins if the Adapter ( black box ) is warm or cold. If the Adapter is warm and the green LED light on adapter is glowing, then it could an issue with the Cord or the Printer.

Try with another Adapter or power cord to diagnose.

For Other brand printers, there should be a power adapter ( black box ) and it should be warm when connected to wall outlet, if it is not warm then it is defective power adapter that you need to replaced. Else it is a problem with printer mechanism.

Shawn

Hp c5280 wont switch on, its been working well when last used this morning.

Disconnect the power chord from the back of the printer. Wait for 40 seconds and connect it back and check if it is warming up or not. If not the press power key for few seconds and see if it turns on or not.

If not then check if the adapter is getting warm or not after it is connected to wall outlet.
If adapter is warming up then try another power chord and check..

If both power supply are getting warmer then problem is with printer hardware and if printer works with another power chord then replace the damaged power chord

Keeps rebooting

Hi, Please check if it is connected to a wall outlet or to a surge protector...If it is connected to a surge protector then connect it to a wall outlet.....
- If it is working then fine....If not then remove all the cartridges...disconnect the power chord from back of the printer and then from wall outlet......wait for 40 seconds then connect the power chord to wall outlet first and then to the back of the printer....
- If working fine then ok or else check adapter is warming or not......and check with different wall outlet and with different power supply....
- Now do the following re-sets :
A) Disconnect the power chord from the back of the printer
B) Press and hold # and 6
C) While holding these keys connect the power chord to the back of the printer and when you see that printer is warming up then release the keys.....
Or else replace the printer.

And also some of the electrical components used to build the logic board in the Cxxxx all in one printers about 2-3 years ago is failing. In my C6180 (with the same problem), there were 4 capacitors (see green cylinder shaped component in the attached - the bulge in the top indicates failure, and that this is the likely the cause) that I replaced (cost was about 60 cents!). If you are not comfortable doing some soldering yourself, you will have to find some help - it took me about 25 min to do the repair myself. Printer works great now.

Hope it helps..

Thanks for using fixya....

My printer wont turn on , and i need it right now!

Please follow the instructions given below:
1. Connect the printer directly to the power outlet. Surge protectors can actually draw power away from the printer. If this fails, please try multiple power outlets to ensure your specific outlet is not damaged, and make sure the printer is not connected to the PC while testing the unit.
2. When trying to power on the printer, feel the power supply box (if there is one) and note whether or not it is warm. If it is warm, the problem is not in your power supply, but most likely in your printer. If it is cold, the power supply might be defective.

Please try to print the self test

Printer will not power on

Try these out:
1. Check for any physical defects on the power cord. Plug printer straight to the power outlet in the wall without using any extensions or power strips.
2. Plug the printer to a known working power outlet in the wall.
3. Unplug the printer's power supply (the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached). With the power cord still attached to power supply and the other end still plugged in to the power outlet, it should feel warm but not hot. Then, plug it back in the printer.
4. If still no power, press the power button.
5. If after doing these and the printer is still not powering on, you might be looking at a defective power cord or defective power supply.

Hi, here are some checklist for power problems with the printer.
1. Make sure the printer is plugged in to a known working power outlet.
2. Disconnect/Reconnect power cord from power outlet and the back of the printer.
3. With the power cord connected to the power supply(the black box where the power cord is plugged in behind the printer) and the other end plugged in to the power outlet, unplug the power supply from printer and check if it is warm or cold. It might be a defective power supply.
Hope this will help you find the problem.

HP C6100 printer won't go on -- or off. Plug it in and the blue screen with the HP logo appears on the console (without pressing the "on" button) and that is as far as it gets. The "on" button light goes...

Try This
First unplug the computer from the printer
Connect the printer directly to the wall outlet (there should be no surge protactor in between)
Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer and keep on tapping the power button for next 30 sec and then plug in back the power cable and
check if the same thing happens
Unplug the power cable from the back of the computer
(with one hand) press and hold down the (#) and the (6) button at the same time and plug in back the power cable
Release the (#) and (6) button (the printer may shut down) on the screen it will display SEMI NVM reset
If none of them happens try it once more
if still the issue remains
Do the same by press (#) and (9) button
If still it doesn't work you may change the wall outlet and check if still the issue remains in that case the printer has gone bad and cannot be repaired
Can call HP to return the printer and get an upgrade at low price for replacing the damage printer.
