There are many causes for spots on top of an LCD rear projection tv, you are probably in the first two cases, both require part replacements and repair job.
If the spots are faint blue, green or pink shadows, then it can be a problem with the anti polarization panel placed on top of the LCD.
Similar spots (colored shadows) may be caused by a problem with the light engine, in that case the fix will be expensive.
If the spots are bright lights, like an aura, that is a problem with the color wheel.
Problems on the light tunnel can cause static gray shadows.
If the spots are static dark stains than that is lcd liquid, the LCD panel must be replaced.

The optical block is most likely causing the problem. It will continue to get worse. Sony may help with the repair since they have had a lot of problems over the years with their optical blocks across many models. On the older sets they usually only help with the parts cost. The average repair cost for a optical block replacement is $1200.00 to $1500.00. So if they help with the parts cost it really brings the cost down. Their customer service number is 1800-222-SONY.

if engine is revving and it "hesitates" the takes off- check your transmission fluid level. if enigne does not rev correctly, but then takes off like you said and trans is ok- have you checked your air filter?
The only thing I'd like to add to Elaine's answer, Shayna, is something you didn't ask directly but I think your question may imply. You ask for exercises for your abdominals and I suspect that you think doing them will take weight off of that area of your body. If you are indeed under the impression that that will happen, I've got bad news for you: exercising a particular muscle group in the belief that you will eliminate fat from that area is a common misconception that many people have. I'm afraid it's false. What will happen is you will improve the strength of your abdominal muscles and increase their firmness, but they will exist under the layer of fat you wish to lose. The only way you can lose body fat is to burn more calories than your body takes in as food. You can do this via diet or exercise or, what is best and fastest, a combination of both. There are many misconceptions held by bodybuilders and exercise gurus that are generally accepted as true and are not even questioned. It's unfortunate. I'm sure that if you show this response to many of these people they will tell you that I am wrong.
