Check your door seals or for cracks in plastic shelves. Sounds like condensation getting to metal causing rust.

- Once you stop the condensation. If door looks good after cleaning just apply a good grade car wax and buff. Will clean easy afterwards. Could paint but would bevery hard to match the shade of white, would have to paint whole fridge not to look funny.Yes
