It sounds like you have a broken motor coupling. This is a very inexpensive and simple repair.

If the washer will fill and drain, but won't agitate or spin, you may have a broken motor coupling. The noise of the motor engaging, lack of agitation and ability to still drain are the usual symptoms. This is a common fail item with this model washer through normal wear and tear. Newer versions of the coupler are more resilient and resist breaking. The following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385250-replacing_motor_coupling_kenmore_top

The motor coupling is located between the drive motor and the transmission and takes the place of a drive belt. They do wear out and can break. The replacement part number is included in the link I provided and is an improved upgraded coupling that is more resilient. It should last longer. If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

A replacement coupler can be purchased on line at appliancepartspros.com for about $11. Just use the part number in the link and "Search by Part Number" for your search criteria.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Simpson EZISet 950 not spinning (model no 22S950)

It could be many things. It the load is large and heavy, the machine electronics won't allow fast spin if the load is not even and even the slightest wobble will stop higher spin speeds. Here are a few things you can try. Split the load into two or three and then do rinse and spin.

Other possibilities are a slipping belt due to the weight, or the speed processor on the motor.

Probably the worst washing machine manual I have ever read!

Try this.

Put your wollens in the machine, set for cold water, Woollens Cycle and your 'Soak' detergent. It will agitate a bit, and as soon as it stops filling, turn it off.

After say 20 minutes. Then Move the dial to Spin, and pull the knob out. It _should_ pump out and spin.

Want go a spin cycle after rinse

If your washer won't spin nor aggitate, then you have a broken motor coupling.
It's a rubber peice that couples the motor and the tranny.

You can verify this by putting it on spin and listening for a rattling sound.
Best of luck.

Hi. My washer suddenly stopped running the high speed spin. The drum will roll for the cycle and rinse but it will not spin at the end so the clothes are coming out soaking wet. Any suggestions? ...

HI there,

Well first of all you can check the motor coupler-
To test the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let the machine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether the tub is spinning:
If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine.
If it isn't spinning then you may have a broken coupler. many washers use a small, relatively inexpensive device called a motor coupling. This plastic-and-rubber component is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. When that happens, you need to replace it. Please post comments for more help or information.......

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Washer won't spin

Check the washer motor. Make sure that the motor is getting correct voltage and is working and spinning when you turn it on. It sounds like the motor is bad. You can remove the back cover to get to the motor to check it out

Strange growling sounds on rinse and spin cycle

I would check the motor control board located near the floor on the right side for burnt components. The motor is a 3 phase unit and if one of the phases are working the motor will growl and won't be able to supply the proper torque.

See www.neptunehelp.com for disassembly photos and for more info on the faulty door latch wax motor.

While the washer drains and spins, new water comes in

Drain hose must be at least 30 inchs above the floor.

Hot point Washing Machine

LOTS OF VARIATIONS.  SOME W/MACHINES HAVE A SOAK BUTTON WHICH HAS TO BE DEACTIVATED TO ALLOW WASH CYCLE.   possibly wash winding defective.  could be loose connection at motor terminal as there are connections for spin and forward/reverse(wash cycle).if unit has element, select low temp and see if it washes.  need techi otherwise.

Loud screaming sound during spin cycle

The screaming noise is probably from a dry bearing in the motor, it will probably come and go and shouldnt cause to much problem, they are supposed to be self lubricating but sometime they run dry.
