Now i assume you have connected the Computer using a VGA cable ( 15 D pin connector )bobhifi_41.jpgbecause if you had used an HDMI cable the sound would have come by default. The VGA cable only carries analogue Video signals. So you will have to get 3.5 mm phono to 2 RCA cable to connect the sound out of the PC to the TV's audio in socket ( next to the VGA socket labeled audio IN )

Ok, I need more verifications:
1) Your TV is Fujitsu Siemens PlasmaVision P42VHA40 Monitor which does not have tuner? If not, please provide the make and model of the TV.

2) What kind of cables you are using to hook between the cable box and the TV? HDMI? Component video (Red, Blue, and Green cables withe RCA plugs)? Composite video cable with Yellow RCA plugs?

3) Are you trying to get the sound to come out off the TV speakers or through the stereo system?

The cap on the positive battery cable can be pulling out and it has a thearther to not lose it. Some on them have two battery cables and their well known to get corrosion under the bolts and bewteen the cables and the side of the battery the bolt head is 5/16 or 8 MM and needs to be taken apart and all cleaned and connected it's best to charge a low battery or change it as the altenator can go up in smoke after a few minutes charging a dead or low battery after a jump start. If nessary connect the jumper car with it running and let it sit there charging for awhile, then start the dead car and still leave it connected to stableize the charge and not ruin either car. Once running take the car to a parts store or service center and have them test the battery and the charging system. You can aquire a battery charger if you can get an extion cord to the car and charge the battery and in a few hours the car will start if the battery is any good and the charger works correctly. If the battery is real cold and real dead it's possible the battery can explode if jumped off wrong or making a spark. Be real careful with low and dead batteries as they can spray acid in your eyes and on your skin and sparping lots of water on yourself in the cold is a bad deal. and lots of water is the only good way to deal with the acid.

I want to hook up my computer to my dvd

Hi,this is a stepwise description of how to connect your computer to your dvd(home theater system).

STEP 1 Determine the distance between your computer and your system. If your computer is within 12 feet of your home theater system , you can directly connect them.
STEP 2 Make sure there is a free set of inputs on the back of your system. This should be a label that says "Input" and two connectors (usually red and white). Alternateively, they could be labeled "Aux," or "DVD." This is the source that you will select on the front of your device when you wish to listen to sound from your computer.
STEP 3 Determine the length of cable you need. Measure the distance between the back of your computer to the back of your DVD. The cable generally comes in 3-, 6-, and 12-foot lengths.
STEP 4 Visit an electronics store to purchase a Y adapter cable of the proper length. At one end the cable will have a plug to go into the headphone jack of your computer. (The plug will look like the plug on the end of any pair of headphones.) At the other end, the cable will have two RCA-type plugs (red and white). These go into your system.
STEP 5 Plug the computer end of the cable into the headphone jack on your computer. There may be a few jacks; the headphone one is usually green. Connect the other end of the cable to the free set of inputs on the back of your system. Be sure to match red to red and white to white.
STEP 6 Turn on your system and set the volume pretty low so you don't accidentally make a real loud noise.
STEP 7 Select the input to which you connected the Y adapter. For example, if you connected to "Aux," press the "Aux" button on the front of your system.
STEP 8 Adjust the volume of your computer to around 80 percent. You should hear the sound of your computer playing through your system.

Thanks and take care

NO SOUND WHEN USING HDMI FROM PC TO HDTV (RUNNING VISTA)

When using an HDMI to DVI cable their is no audio that comes through that cable. Even if you use HDMI to HDMI most computers only have video output from HDMI. You will have to use a seperate audio cable for you to be able to get the sound to work. Depending on the output you have on your laptop you may have to resort to hooking up a pair of speakers to the headphone jack.

Hope this helps.

Standard speakers to the computer , low volume

You are getting low volume because there is no amplifier in those speakers. Computer speaker sets are powered -- there is an amp in one of them them which drives both speakers -- a computer audio output without an amplifier will only satisfactorily drive headphones.

Think your set tuner is bogus. The other tuner that you used should work, but if it is not a cable tuner configured to your system it will not work either via the rf outputs or the audio video outputs. If that cable box works with another set then you have a real head scratcher on your hands.

There have been some reported problems with some RCA sets doing that and it appears to have something to do with a signal riding on the closed captioning part of the cable. It should go away (temporary)when the set is unplugged for several seconds. If that doesn't work, I would then bypass the cable box and hook up the TV direct to cable and see if the audio stays (you may have to run "autoprogram" to search for and load the available cable channels into the set first). Otherwise, you may need to call a repair shop.
