Mower Deck assembly for a Dixon ZTR 8025

My mowing deck is not cutting level I think it's missing a roller wheel on front right side facing mower. I think it broke off some time ago.

SOURCE: Dual blade mower leaves uncut strips between blades.

Had same uneven mowing problem with new Toro Z4200 XTR mower. Problem was one side of the U-shaped rear deck hanger rod had popped out of its chassis mount (did hit something with mowing deck). Removed hanger chassis mount & its bolt. Put end of U-shaped rear deck hanger rod back in the chassis mount and remounted hanger chassis mount & its bolt. Z4200 now cuts lawn evenly again.

SOURCE: I have a problem leveling

The deck could be bent, or you will probably have to level the back of the deck as well. Another thing to check is the air in the tires, this can cause an uneven cut. Although the tire may look pumped up, with the weight of a person on the tractor can cause an uneven cut.

SOURCE: Craftsman 42 inch deck mower.

That model number des not show up as a good number on the http://www.searspartsdirect.com site. Are you sure you have the belts on correctly? If it has 2 belts on the deck & 1 is not installed correctly they work against each other. Safely make sure that each blade will turn by hand. did you take the blades off? If they are too long by just a fraction, they will hit ach other, but that usually makes quiet a noise. Get your book out & systematically go over everything you touched or changed. It sounds like something really simple you have overlooked. you can go to http://www.searspartsdirect.com & enter a good model number & view all of the parts diagrams. Sometimes they are a big help, & at other times they just confuse you more:). Let me know what you find!!

Safety and Preparation Serious injury can occur if the engine or mower blades accidentally start while you are working with lawn tractors. To prevent this, drive the Murray lawn tractor onto a flat work surface and disengage the mowing deck cutting blades. Engage the parking brake to keep the mower from moving; chock the wheels with a wooden block or brick. Adjust the mowing deck to the lowest position. Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition. While not necessary, you may even wish to disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug. Mowing Deck Removal You must remove the mowing deck on a Murray lawn tractor to gain access to the belts. Remove the adjustment rod hairpins, followed by the adjustment rod pins from the front left and right sides of the mowing deck. At the rear on the left and right sides, pull out the retaining hairpins and slide the mowing deck suspension links from the adjuster plates to separate the rear mowing deck from the frame. Remove the blade control rod stud, including the hairpin and washer, from the top of the blade control lever shift linkage at the left rear of the deck. Remove the front hanger rod, including the hairpin and flat washer that hold the rod in place. Loosen the belt guide retaining bolts with a socket wrench and remove the engine stack pulley belt so you can slide the mower deck out from under the tractor Transmission Drive Belt Installation Slide the new transmission drive belt between the engine stack pulley belt guides, over the belt guide plate and under the engine stack pulley. Fit the transmission drive belt around the top engine stack pulley. Push the free end of the transmission drive belt up through the transmission shifter hole in the lawn tractor floorboard. Slip the transmission drive belt loop over the transmission shifter. Pull the transmission drive belt down through the transmission shifter hole. Fit the transmission drive belt around the transmission drive pulley and tighten the transmission drive pulley belt guide retaining bolts to hold it in place. Fit the transmission drive belt flat side around the idler pulley. Slide the idler pulley onto the idler pulley stud while holding the belt in place. Tighten the transmission idler pulley retaining nut with a socket wrench to secure the idler pulley to the idler pulley stud. Mowing Deck Drive Belt Installation Pull back on the right side mowing deck mandrel pulley spring-tensioned belt retainer. Guide the new mowing deck drive belt around the right side mandrel pulley and release the belt retainer. Pull the drive belt spring-tensioned retainer away from the mowing deck idler pulley, guiding the deck drive belt around the idler pulley. Fit the mowing deck drive belt around the left side mandrel pulley and under the rear mowing deck cross link rod between the right and left side mandrel pulley. Slide the mowing deck under the right side lawn tractor frame, reconnecting the deck to the frame in reverse order of removal. Engage and disengage the mower deck while driving the mower to test the belt for proper operation.

Left side is scalping especially when turning

Stephen Bent/damage blade or spindle, check your deck for support link pin missing, damaged or rusted out brackets, blade spindle loose/mount damages or rusted out, missing deck support spring,wheel/roller if equipped, damaged blades, Recheck tire pressure and front steering axles for bent/damage, etc.
When measuring deck for level, measure at blade tips not the deck on a flat level surface. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Deck not level from right to left side

Makes and models vary considerably. However there are some things which apply to every unit. First check that your tyres are evenly inflated. If you have even slight slopes the lower side will press into the grass more and so cut deeper leaving a line. If the tyres are soft this is exaggerated. Best where possible to mow up and down slope. Next park on a flat surface like you garage floor. Carefully measure the distance from the outside of the mower deck to the floor. Measure the deck height with the unit in the cutting position. Best to do this on the rear edge of the deck where it just starts to be straight across the back. On two spinner decks, one is in front of the other so they can over lap without hitting each other. This means that the distance from the rear wheels can be different on either side. Three spinner units usually have the centre one in front. The deck swings up and down from the front attachment yoke. So the front of the deck will not rise as much as the rear. There are hangers which are lifted by the pedal which lifts the deck. If the distance to the floor is unequal, adjust the hanger threads until they hang evenly. I have not yet experienced a spring in any mower hangers.

Its not mowing evenly

You need to level the deck. On most mowers you level the deck from side to side evenly but have the front of the deck 1/4" lower than the back.

Mower is cutting grass uneven when mower is turning and when mower is tilted . mower is cutting into the sod and loam when tilted or turning

all you can do is check the air in all 4 tires. pull it on level floor use a tape or 12 inch ruler to set the deck on the level. i have `12 mowers i keep going for a golf course. and this works great for us! And be sure to lift on each side of the deck while you check the right front left front, left rear and theright rear. look for sloppy adjustment holes and worn out rollers and deak wheels.
