SOURCE: suburban battery keeps dying

locate the brain under the drivers side under-dash area. this may require you to undo a couple of bolts. you will need a 7MM and a 10MM depending on the year of the truck. from there you can unplug the the 6 pin main ignition harness from the brain. it may just be that the battery is no good. a trip to one of the major chain auto part stores can have them check your battery for free. Good luck.

You do not require a bypass module, double check your wires to make sure they are going to the right ones, but again you do not require a bypass module for this car

Remote starter stops working every few months, I was bringing it in to have it reset every time but shop is no longer open. I would like to know how to reset the unit myself.

Use this procedure to reprogram the remote transmitters

1. Turn "on" the ignition.
2. Press the Valet Switch 5 times and wait for horn confirmation of entry into programming mode.
3. Press and release the "Lock" transmitter button on each remote to be coded (one at a time).
4. The system will respond to each with an audible confirmation.
5. Turn "off" the ignition to exit program mode.

The unit should retain the transmitter codes almost indefinitely and should not require reprogramming periodically. I suggest that you call Omega Research and Development, the makers of Excalibur, to see if your unit can be replaced. Their number is 800-554-4053 and their is www.caralarm.com

My boyfriend has an Omega car starter in his Chevy 1500. Recently he had to replace the battery and now he doesn't know how to reset the car starter. And of course we can't find the manual!! Help!!

There will be a few step you will need to do. First we will need the model number of the Omega car starter Also the year of the truck. I would need to see if there is a bypass module and if so what kind of module. The module might need to be reprogrammed.

How do you reprogram (reset) the remote starter after power has been disconnected? I dont know what model

Most remote starters do not lose their "memory" when power is lost. However, if an older version bypass module was used for your vehicle it may need to be reset but you must know the model. If you are not able to look under the dash panels yourself, you should take it to your nearest dealer/installer. Some also reset or relearn after the first key start. The FCC number off of one remote may help narrow down model of the remote start also. Vehicle info will also be helpful. DC

Car turns over but won't actually start.

put key in the ignition and try to remote start it while sitting in it. if it starts, use the brake to shut it down then take the key out and try it again. if it will not start the second try they need to install the bypass module, or install it correctly. not recommended to be done by your self. you can take it to a shop that works on them but they will likely charge you for their time.
