Use 1/4" plug cables or XLR-1/4" cables with the fx loop, depending on the type of connector of your mixer. Don't use batteries, they don't last. Use a type 2 (for noise reduction) 9V wall outlet adapter.

SOURCE: BOSS DD3 STAYS ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF

It's supposed to do that. An extra lug on the input jack is connected to the battery and/or power supply's ground.

So the only way to power off any pedal is to disconnect the input jack. If you use a power supply and power multiple pedals you can simply disconnect the power supply to cut power and avoid unplugging each one.

SOURCE: Boss DD3 - LED switches ON but the signal remains dry.

Have you tried a new battery?

If you have experience with electronics then open it up and start testing all the components with a digital multimeter to find the failed component(s).

Unfortunately the newer DD3's are harder to fix then they once were. There is no place to point you other than just to start testing everything. Hard to say what has failed. The signal into the input of the circuit may simply be shorting to the output. Maybe the switch or switching circuit has a fault.

Shud i get an external equaliser? i'm using MG166CX 16-Channel Mixer as the main mixer.

An external equalizer will not help this at all. The problem is likely within the amp (feeding the main speakers), the connections from the board to the amp, or the speakers themselves. In other words, the answer would be "NO." Best of luck!

How to hook power amp to mixer

The output of mixer connects to channel A or B of the separate amplifier and the output of the am connects to the speakers. Amp channels are listed as A and B or 1 and 2 instead of Left and Right because the manufacturer does not assume how you may wire your system. Please remember that compression, limiters and EQ device connect between the mixer and the amplifier with their prespective IN and OUT levels adjusted accordingly.

Hi Folks, I have the Behringer PMP3000 Europower Desk. now also have a studiomaster VPX15 Sub (Active 600W). Does anyone know what the crossover arrangements are on the PMP for the Mono out, and what...

There is no crossover arrangement. On the PMP5000 they have a tunable filter INTENDED to do low pass for a subwoofer. When selecting this mode for a subwoofer The frequency of the low pass filter can be set between 30 and 200 Hz. This feature is NOT available on the PMP3000.

There is nothing related to a crossover in these amps other than what is mentioned above.

The MONO out is merely an analog summation of both the L and R channels.

Low volume, high pith squill

The schematic is here:http://www.vintagesynth.com/roland/xp60.php Take note though that the design was changed for the newer DD3. Here is a link to a forum with links to later DD3 service notes:http://music-electronics-forum.com/t15879/. Start checking transistors at the input. Check voltage readings on pins on the I.C.s to see if they match the supply voltage at IC10 . If you get voltage readings on pins that aren't supposed to have readings there is a good chance that the I.C. you are testing is shorted. Also check the diodes as you proceed.

Problems with certain channels and there gain pots

I assume you are talking about an audio mixer, here's what i think:

I'm not sure about channels 12 and 16, but channels 6 and 9 seem like having some loose solder contacts, which usually occur with long term use - you need to remove the problematic channel strips and check the solder contacts on any of the pots / switches / connectors that protrude through the top panel - resolder any loose or bad solder contacts (i usually resolder ALL pins on ALL connectors, pots and switches just to be sure).

As for the lower gain on CH12 - see if the mixing slider is connected via wires, if so, compare it to the connections on other channels, see if there is a loose wire or if the wires are connected in a wrong way (i had a "lower gain" issue with a mixer once that turned out to be a wrongly connected mixing slider - i obviously wasn't the first person to repair that mixer...)

Channel 16: check input preamp IC, could be a bad electrolytic filter capacitor or other components, possibly a faulty IC.

Hope some of this helps...

regards
