Initial settings are 1 1/4 turn out on high needle and 1 to 1 1/4 on low needle. Once its running start with low needle, while at idle slowly turn low needle in till you here idle start to peak and start to drop again then turn back to peak then with throttle lever squeezed adjust high needle the same as low till you hear it peak. Good luck and if any problems or questions feel free to ask.

There should be one screw (I'm assuming it's the Carter YF carburetor 1 barrel) that's by itself away from linkages etc, more to center at base of carb where it meets manifold, that is angled approx 45 degrees going in to base. That should be your mixture screw. What symptoms are you experiencing anyway?

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:
You will need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner. Make sure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to see daylight through it.) Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152), to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
