I agree with the valve issue. Either the inlet valve clearance needs adjusting or the valve may be leaking. Either way the compression is blowing past the inlet valve seat and out the carb, and the gas with it. Inlet valve should have ara minimum. 004" clearance.

Wont be the carb
if you are sure the carb and pipes ,linkages choke and float etc are correct

could be the inlet exhaust valve clearances
not sucking in the fuel to the combustion chamber

I have a coleman 6250 generator the carb bowl keeps flooding and it wont start a spring was at the bottom of bowl i have spark and fuel pressure

If it is B&S he spring is to hold up the plastic float housing to keep a tight seal to base of carb. Sits in the center of the bottom of the plastic piece and the bottom of the bowl.

KEEP GOING ONLY IF YOU KEEP PUSHING THE PRIMER BUTTON

You have a clog in the gas flowing into the carburetor. Get some carb cleaner (the spray kind is fine). Drain or siphon the gas out of your mower and discard. Put a little fresh gas and a little carb cleaner in the tank. Run it through. Do this a few times if necessary. When you get new gas, add a gas stabilizer like Sea Foam.

I have a jeep that I converted the 2 bbl carb to a single bbl carb and now can't keep it running. Starts great and quickly, idles very smooth and revs up properly for the first 2-3 minutes of running. ...

Sounds like your float height is incorrect in the carb. Hopefully it is a new carb, and not a used one you bought off of someone. Used carbs are not a good idea unless you have the knowledge to rebuild one.

double check your carb as it should have a screw for the fuel mixture. some carbs have a plastic piece over them that only lets you move the screws so far if you need more extreme adjustment they pull out about a 1/8th of a inch then you can turn in then push it back in, same principals as making a flame on a bic lighter bigger, if you cant find it take some pics of your carb and email them to me @ prerunnerrngr@yahoo.com and i will point them out

My 1999 Oldsmobile Alero Gas gauge and fuel system

well # 1 the full gauge when empty is a sign that your fuel pump is bad and that needs to be replaced the part about spitting the gas back out is probrobly a clog between the fuel door and the tank itself or their might be a vapor lock door that might be stuck shut so fuel cant get in im not 100%sure about that but im 100%sure that the fuel guage is the fuel pump being dead.
