I had the same problem until I called Cuisinart. The handle of the bowl needs to face you. Have you tried that as well?

Begin by unplugging it and plugging in some other appliance or lamp or radio to be sure you have power at that outlet. IF you do have power there plug the cusinart back in and see once again if it will start up.

Bought a Cuisnart Food Processor DLC-7P at a Flea Market and was told that motor was in excellent condition but work bowl was broken on bottom rim. Discovered that the Model # for the bowl is DLC-017. Could this be the proble that the rear plastic pin does not reach the black button on the top rear of the machine? No lights come on to show that the machine is activated.

New magimix won't start

It is most likely the way the bowl and lid are set.

Facing the machine:
the bowl locks in, with the handle to your right directly above the switches. The lid has a double tab...see underside of the top of the lid. Place the lid on tightly with both tabs locked into bowls handle. It really clicks in.

It won't turn on

It may simply be that the bowl and cover are not completely in position. The bowl must be locked in place with the handle straight to the front, only then can the lid be locked into place. Then the pusher must be be in--it has a part that interlocks with the lid and prevent the motor from starting until it is in position. Hope this helps!

When i try using it, nothing happens. i cannot

Remove the work bowl, blades, etc from off the base.
Plug the processor in and press the ON pedal down.
Use a pen to press in the rubber button on top of the base - you should hear a sound.
Now reassemble the bowl - lock the bowl in so that the handle faces front; insert blade of choice; place the tab under the feed tube of lid slightly left of center of the work bowl handle and slide the lid counter-clockwise until it clicks into place; insert pusher and make sure it locks into place.
You should be good to go again.

Cuisinart 7 cup food processor wont' start

Remove the work bowl completely. Turn the machine on and use a pen to depress the dark grey or black button on the base of the food processor. If the motor doesn't spin, it needs repair. If there is spinning:
Make sure the handle of the bowl is facing the front of the food processor. Place the lid tab just to the left of the handle and slide it toward the handle until it won't turn anymore. Remove the pusher sleeve from the lid and reinsert it with the lock facing the front of the food processor. Slide the lock into the locked psoition. If it still doesn't work, replace the third piece on the work bowl - the one piece that you haven't replaced. It will then work.

I cannot get my processor to start

Food processors are notorious for having safety interlocks. If everything - and I mean everything - isn't attached in the correct sequence and clicked into place, one of the safety switches may not be engaged.

You can test it by switching back to the setup you used before to see if it will still operate. If so, then CAREFULLY review all the steps needed to use the new setup.

The machine suddenly won't run!

I went through the same thing...as it turns out, everything was locked into place but I had the handle in the back rather than the front where the sensor is. Good luck. I hope that helps you.
