How can chapter titles be inserted into an existing document in Microsoft Word 2010?

Insert The Chapter Number And Title In A Header Or Footer

First divided your document into sections in order to insert chapter numbers and titles into headers and footers.

1. If you haven't done so already, insert a section break where you want to start a new section that contains a different chapter.
a. Click where you want to insert a section break.
b. On the Insert menu, click Break.
c. Under Section break types, click the option that describes where you want the new section to begin.

Note: If you have already inserted a page break to cause the chapter to start on a new page, delete the page break and replace it with a section break that starts on a new page.

2. Apply a built-in heading style to the chapter number and chapter title by clicking a heading style in the Style box on the Formatting toolbar.

Or to have Microsoft Word automatically number headings, use the Bullets and Numbering dialog box to format chapter headings.

a. On the Format menu, click Bullets and Numbering, and then click the Outline Numbered tab.
b. Click a chapter-numbering style (one that includes the text "Heading 1" or "Heading 2," and so on), and then click OK.
c. Type the text you want for the numbered heading, and then press ENTER.
d. To add the next numbered heading, go to the next chapter heading, click the arrow next to the Style box on the Formatting toolbar, and then select the heading style you specified in step 2.

===========================================

1. In the first chapter, on the View menu, click Header and Footer.

2. If necessary, move the insertion point to the header or footer you want to change.

3. Insert the chapter number or title.
a. On the Insert menu, point to Reference, and then click Cross-reference.
b. In the Reference type box, click Heading.
c. In the For which heading box, click the heading that contains the chapter number and title.
d. In the Insert reference to box, select what you want to insert in the header or footer. For example,
• Click Heading number to insert the chapter number.
• Click Heading text to insert the chapter heading.
e. Click Insert, and then click Close.

4. Click Show Next Button image to move to the header or footer of the next chapter.

5. If the header or footer in this chapter matches the one you just created, click Link to Previous Button image on the Header and Footer toolbar to break the connection between the header or footer in the current chapter and the previous chapter.

6. If there's already text in the header or footer that you don't want, delete the text before inserting the chapter number and title.

7. Repeat step 5 to insert the chapter number or title of the current chapter.

8. For each chapter in the document, repeat steps 5 through 9.

Tip

DVJ-X1 Cue before inserting disk.

The DVJ-X1 has a fun little bug/feature that is often over looked.

For a cd press the track forward/previous to select the track you want to play BEFORE you insert a disk, once you have the disk inserted and it initializes the deck will cue to that track automatically.

With a DVD you need to also select the TITLE as well as the TRACK most of the time with promo only or rock america disks there is only one track for videos so select TITLE 01 first then the appropriate Chapter.

Change keyboard mapping

Create a program that uses a CUSTOM structure. Assign menus and submenus to built in calculator functions, or to a user defined program/function.
For additional details, see Chapter 17 Programming.
Here is an example from the manual.
:Custom
:Title "Vars"
:Item "L1":Item "M1":Item "Prgm1":Item "Func1":Item "Data1"
:Item "Text1":Item "Pic1":Item "GDB1":Item "Str1"
:Title "f(x)"
:Item "f(x)":Item "g(x)":Item "f(x,y)":Item "g(x,y)"
:Item "f(x+h)":Item "Define f(x) ="
:Title "Solve"
:Item "Solve(":Item " and ":Item "{x,y}"
:Item "Solve( and ,{x,y})"
:Title "Units"
:Item "_m/_s^2":Item "_ft/_s^2":Item "_m":Item "_ft":Item "_l"
:Item "_gal":Item "_\o\C":Item "_\o\F":Item "_kph":Item "_mph"
:Title "Symbols"
:Item "#":Item "\beta\":Item "?":Item "~":Item "&"
:Title "Internat'l"
:Item "\e`\":Item "\e'\":Item "\e^\":Item "\a`\"
:Item "\u`\":Item "\u^\":Item "\o^\":Item "\c,\":Item "\u..\"
:Title "Tools"
:Item "ClrHome":Item "NewProb":Item "CustmOff"
:EndCustm
:CustmOn

As to having a user program appear in the catalag, I am not sure you can do that. You may be able to have the program and its variables listed under the VARS and MEMory

Pleas download manual motherboard chaintech 6AJA4T ?

You can download the manual for the Chaintech CT-6AJA_revision_4 motherboard directly from this URL:

http://www.motherboards.org/files/manuals/19/6aja4r4.exe

That file (6aja4r4.exe) is a self-extracting compressed file, about 5.6MB in size. I downloaded it to my system, then scanned it with both the Avira Anti-Virus and Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware programs, which found no problems. I then double-clicked the file (6aja4r4.exe) and it extracted 11 .PDF files; those files are the Table of Contents (6aja4r4-table.pdf), the four main Chapters (6aja4r4-1.pdf through 6aja4r4-4.pdf), and the six Appendices (6aja4r4-a1.pdf through 6aja4r4-a6.pdf).

Let's do this step-by-step:

1. Open Windows Explorer and create a new folder somewhere on your hard drive where it will be easy to find; I named the new folder "Chaintech_CT-6AJA6r4_motherboard_manual".

2. Download that file (http://www.motherboards.org/files/manuals/19/6aja4r4.exe) into the new "Chaintech" folder.

3. When the download is completed, scan the file with your AV and anti-malware programs to be sure that it is clean and won't cause problems on your system.

4. When you know the file is safe to open, double-click the file (6aja4r4.exe) and it will extract the 11 .PDF files I mentioned into the "Chaintech" folder.

5. Double-click the file named "6aja4r4-table.pdf", which is the Table of Contents for the manual. The ToC will tell you what information is contained in each of the other 10 files. Chapter 1 (6aja4r4-1.pdf) is titled "Introduction", Chapter 2 (6aja4r4-2.pdf) is titled "Hardware Setup", Chapter 3 (6aja4r4-3.pdf) is titled "Award BIOS Setup Program", and so on.

Good luck with this; hope this information helps you. Let me know if you have any questions about this Chaintech motherboard; now that I have the manual on my system, I can probably help you to find any specific information you need about this Chaintech motherboard.

Hi there when i log into slide show expressions i get a ' black/blank window right in the middle of the title page. pse HELP i need to remove this window

This is quite normal. It just means that no project is opened up yet. You need to either create a new project / slide show or open an existing one. The little black window in the middle is only "reserving" the spot where the chapter icon will appear on your menu page once you've newly created a chapter or slide show. Later on, the little black window will be replaced with one showing one of the photos you have inserted - you can choose which photo you want to display as chapter icon. You can also alter the position of these chapter icons in the "Design" tab.

Will the sansa e250 record books from CDs with chapters in ORDER?

The Sansa won't. You have to exercise a little care when you rip multi-disk audiobooks from CD to your hard drive. The scheme I use is to put a disk number at the beginning of the title (so I don't have to scroll to the end to see it). Then I just listen to the audiobook one disk at a time. I don't mind having to pause once an hour or so to go on to the next disk.

Require a code to unlock my Panasonic ntsc DVD A310u/ca. Also my Toshiba DVD SD100EE.

Put DVD into player - wait for regional code violation screen to appear. Once this happens press the M (Memory) button on your remote control. Then press 1 for Title 1 and press play on the remote. This will over-ride the regional code violation detection menu and you can watch the movie etc by entering the fwd on the remote control and change chapters etc by using the T (Title/Chapter) button on the remote control)----
This is the only unlock I can find for Toshiba DVD players, yours was not listed but I thought worth a go, I donn't have one for the Panasonic, sorry.

This may sound trivial, but my husband has written a WordPerfect document and needs to add a title page at the very beginning. We can't figure out how to insert the page without messing up the whole...

Well, I don't know wordperfect very well, but if the document is going to be delivered in printed form, you could always just create a new, one-page document as your title page and print the two documents separately.

What is the path to a New Title I Folder created? Panosonic Rec

You mean you can't find the folder you created in your computer and named "Title I"?
Try START /SEARCH / FILES AND FOLDERS and in the search box, type "Title I." (the dot in the end means only folders with that name will be searched).
