F28 is a serial bus error from the CCU (Central Control Unit) to the MCU (Motor Control Unit).

All you need is some Electronics contact cleaner spray and a 1/4 inch socket to remove the top of the machine and the back of the machine.
The CCU is the computer looking box at the top front right hand corner.
Find connector M13, (has red marking on it and only 3 wires) disconnect it by pushing the retainer tab back and pulling gently on the connector.
Spray the contacts of the connector and computer with connector cleaner.
Then re-assemble connector.
The MCU is in the back lower left corner.
Find the connector with 3 wires and red mark, and remove this connector in the same way you did the other, spray it and re-install.
Put the back and top back on.

Machine is flashing f-28

Is this a top or front load? If it is a top load, there should be a tech book for the unit either behind the control panel, or inside a clear plastic bag, located somewhere on the inside of the cabinet ( tilt machine back and look up from underneath. You should look toward the top, front of the unit). The tech book should list all the error codes and tell you what and where to start checking. If it is a front load machine, you can remove the very top, and you should see a tech book on top of the dispenser assembly, or on the underside of the top in a clear plastic bag. Sometimes the tech book is on the back side of the front, bottom access panel ( located under the door). Again, the tech book will have all error codes and what and where to check. Good Luck!

when it stops do you still have power to the front panel if there is no power to the panel then you would have a bad connection to one of the control boards. are there any error codes showing when the unit does stop such as flashing lights or an exact er code have you checked the door switch? if the door switch does not work the unit will start then stop immediatley message me back with your finds thanks Rick

My duet sport washer stopped washing, panel is not working and I cannot open the dorrs.what to do?My clothes are inside the washer for 2 days now.

You have to remove the top cover of the washer by removing the screws on the back that run the top edge, then remove the top panel by sliding it to the rear. With the top off, reach down the front toward the locking mechanism. There is a round washer attached to a wire on the bottom of the locking mechanism that when you pull it down, it will unlock the door. Mine has done the same thing and flashes a code of f-28 which I have found to be an electrical failure. I have not been able to fix it as of yet but this should get your clothes out.

Kenmore F-28 error - door locked can't get in

Unplug the machine.
Wait 15 seconds.
Plug machine back in.
Press and hold the Power button until the lights come on.
Press and hold Start.
When you hear a click, press Stop.
Open door.

You still have an F-28 issue but you can at least get your clothes now.

Hope this helps.

I have a front loading "Duet" washer that was purchased a year ago. It was washing and I don't know what cycle it is in, but it is flashing F-28 and the door won't open. I have tried everything...

Unplug the machine

take the lower front panel off two screws, on the back of this panel or on a side panel should be a small plastic bag with tech support, when you find this it may have the definetions of the F28 code. proceed with diagnostics.

ask more questions as needed.
