Question about Hoover F7425-900 SteamVac V2 Widepath Upright Vacuum
Brushes do not rotate, here a high pitch when i turn it on. brushes move by hand easily
I had a similar problem. Discovered it was an easy fix in that the drive pin for the brushes had broken. To the naked eye, you could not tell until you pull the brushes out of the unit.

The brushes are driven by air flow from the main motor. There is a gear assy above the brushes that has a metal gear/bearing that seazes up. I used teflon spray lube to free up the bearing. This requires alot of dis-assembly to access that assy.
