Test by phoning a different person. If they hear you then it's not your phone.

SOURCE: no dialtone

If you use Dsl as a internet provider make sure you have the filters on each phone. If you use cablevision and have a wireless connection make sure you chage the phone to a 5.2ghz because you might have the wireless router with the same ghz causing a coflict. This will also create loss. of internet connections then you use the phone

SOURCE: audio problem. When I make/receive calls, other person cannot hear my voice.

This problem I've had myself But it will only solve the problem if your cell uses a sim card. When the sim cards go bad thats whats happens your hear them but they can't hear you or vice-versa.

Which is best international calling card/plan in Canada?

Calling cards are the prepaid method of making a long distance call. They help in saving money spent on long distance phone bill. Since they are prepaid calling cards, there are no monthly bills, no detailed statements and no hassles. There are various networks that provide calling cards of different plans. But the calling card which I use most is Reliance Mind Bridge. They are much cheaper than other cards and local phone company. They offer unmatched voice clarity at extremely attractive prices. You can not only make calls in Canada, but also in the U.S., U.K., China for as low as INR 1.4 per min. There is also a mobile application compatible with popular OS. Another feature which I liked most is that there are no hidden charges with Reliance. Reliance Mind Bridge provides best international calling card plan in Canada.

Do I have to dial 9-1 before the area code when faxing?

Hello, If you are in an office or corporate environment where the phone system is on a PBX you need to dial 9 usually to get outside the office. If you just have the unit setup at home or to an analog phone jack (not going thru a PBX) then just dial 1 + area code + number. If the number is local then don't use a 1, just the phone number and area code.

We are having problems with our Muratex F110 fax machine. It won't send long distance faxes. the phone company says it is not on their end. any suggestions?

Well technically it's not on thier end. Let's remember that a fax uses a normal home style phone line.
So ask yourself these questions.
#1 Do I have long distance service on this phone line?
#2 If I do have long distance service do I need to do any kind of special dialing sequence to access long distance? Like a 9 or an 8 or any other number before dialing outside of your local area.
In some cases( businesses usually) a special code needs to be entered after dailling the number.
Most fax machines have a hansdset on them. Do this simple test. Lift the handset and dial a known long distance number and listen to what the operator message says. If all else fails call your phone company and ask them if this line has long distance capability.

I'm moving my business from canada to america but i have to phone numbers one local which is a canadian area code and one toll free i want both of them to ring my cell phone is this possible (what about...

VoIP phones can do this, but there are obsticles in keeping your phone numbers and forwarding to your cell phone or you can call your phone provider and get them to twin your number to your cell phone.

First the VoIP phone home base station will be in Canada... meaning that you can get transfered calls to you VoIP phone anywhere in the world so long as you have a high speed internet connection.

When you call out on the VoIP set, you will be using the Canadian dial tone, making all your calls long distance if you are in a different area code.
So 2 phones maybe required if you want to call locally in America.
Your 911 calling will have to reflect your address in America, or you need to have a big sticker telling the customer no 911 calling because the outbound number will be coming from Canada, not the US where you are located.
