How to replace samsung LNT3253HX/XAA t-con board...There is a metal plate covering the t-con board. I removed the screws holding the plate in place.

How do I remove the plate covering the t-con board without damaging the board or cables connected to it? When I try to remove the plate, the t-con board and cables move with it.

On some sets the cables need to be removed before the metal plate will come off. If this is the case the top connector will release the ribbon cable by carefully flipping the black plastic piece down. The bottom connector has two points on the sides of the cable that need to be compressed to remove the cable from the T-con. The metal plate is having a resistance of removal due to the heat sink pad. A slight even pulling pressure will separate the two without damage, Hope his helps. :)

I currently have a Vizio D65u-d2 that is getting no picture, but has sound. Read is could be T-Con, but I don't know enough about it. Anyone encountered this and have suggestions?

t-con board is the board that is attached to the screen back, the board has a model number on it as it has to match the screen, you need the same part number that is on the t-con board. the board has a metal cover over it and has 2 to 4 screws holding it to the back of the screen. first you need to remove the long cable, on the right and left of the cable connector there is little plastic clips hold your fingers on the ends and pinch them and pull at same time, now remove the screws. take cover off, you will now see the board with cables going to the screen remove these by the black strip on the white connector they lift up, so the cable can be removed. when refitting you will see on the last cables there is a black line, this is to show that the cable has to go into the socket of the connector to lis line. when in place push the black part back down to lock the cable in place then refit in reverse order.. it should be all done then.

Replace igniter on hotpoint gas oven

REMEMBER TO UNPLUG YOU UNIT> The oven igniter is located under a metal plate. Remove the oven door so that you can slide out the flat cover to expose this plate. There are four screws holding down the plate. Once you remove this plate the igniter will be exposed. Hint: The screws holding the igniter in place are difficult to loosen if you dont have the correct socket for it. Once you do remove the two screws holding the igniter, pull the igniter until the connector plug comes out and replace it.

The Broiler igniter is easier to access. Remove one screw from the plate covering the gas manifold. Then loosen the one towards the front. Pivot this metal cover ccw to get it out of the way and using a socket, remove the two screws holding down the igniter and pull it out until the connector is exposed. Install in reverse order.

My Samsung LN-S2651D has suddenly lost the picture. The sound works, the remote control changes channels, etc, the lcd backlighting seems to be on, but the screen remains black with no trace of an image. ...

This sounds like the LCD Back light Inverter board has failed. The board may need to be replaced. (First check the menu option to make sure the Back-light option is not set to zero or a really low value !)
One test you can try is this.

With the set on place a bright flashlight against the screen. Look around the edge of the flashlight. You should see an image moving. You can not see the full image because the back light is off !

You can find inverter boards for your set from;
shopjimmy.com
Ebay.com
alltvparts.com
other sites by search the internet.

IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH ELECTRONICS REPAIR( replacing board) or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can fix it.

>Unplug the set and disconnect any cables.
> Lay the set face down on a cloth covered smooth surface.

>Remove the back cover.
> Remove the metal shielding covering the board
> Disconnect the cables plugged into the board.
> Remove the screws holding the board in place.

> The new board should have the same part number as the board you are replacing.
> Install the new board with screws.
> Reconnect the cables.
> Replace the metal shielding covering the board
> Replace the back cover.

The Inverter board looks something like;

Unable to read disc

Hello,

If your console is unable to read disc, then there seem to be a problem with the console, and the problem most likely is as a result of a bad laser/lens inside the console.

To replace the lens of the nitendo wii console, remove the two flip up panela on the side of the wii to reveal the black face plate with the controller ports and memory card slot.

Then remove the three screws located underneath the flip up panels using the fine phillips head screwdriver, then remove the black face plate.

Then remove the two tri wing screws located underneath the face plate. There are also two phillip head screws under the face plate but you can leave them in place.

Use a scalpel to peel off the two white stickers that are covering the screws located near the two front rubber feet on the bottom of the wii. This will reveal two black tri wing screws.

Use the scalpel to remove the two back ribber feet on the bottom of the wii, this will reveal two silver tri wing screws. Remove the two black tri wing screws and the two silver tri wing screws revealed on the bottom of the wii.

Use the scalpel to remove the rubber foot that is covering a screw in the top left corner at the back of the wii. Remove the screw using the fine phillip head screwdriver. Then use the scalpel to remove the white sticker covering the screw directly below the bar code on the back of the wii. Remove the screw with the tri wings screwdriver. Then use the fine phillip head screwdriver to remove the screw that is holding the battery cover in place on the back of the wii. This will reveal another screw that you can remove with the tri wing screwdriver.

Remove the front face plate of the wii, be careful because it is still attached to the console by a black and red wire. Disconnect the wires by lightly pulling on it. Remove the wii shell casing by gently lifting the separating it from the internal electronics of the console.

Remove the DVD drive by taking out the four corner screws using the large phillip head screwdriver then lift up the DVD drive and disconnect both power cable and ribbon cabble connecting it to the console.

Turn the disassembled console upside down, remove the two screws holding the DVD citcuit board in place, disconnect the three ribbon cable that are attached to the DVD circuit board, Use the tweezers to free the wires that are still connected to the circuit board from the plastic clips, Lift up the DVD circuit board and remove it from the way, then remove the lens case that is holding the lens ribbon cable in place.

Use the tweezers to remove the lens casing by lifting up on one side hooks that are holding it in place. This will reveal the laser lens unit, Which is held in place by two metal bars. Take out one of the metal bars by first removing the screws located next to it, and then gently lifting up on the plastic tab so you can slide it out.

Remove the laser lens unit and turn it over to reveal a white plastic part held in by a screw. Take out the screw so you can remove the white plastic part. You will need the part to install the replacement lens.

Attach the white plastic part from your old lens to your new lens using the same screw from the old unit. Place the new lens in the console and reassemble The DVD circuit board.

Remove the two solder points located on the lens ribbon by using a hot soldering iron.

Then reverse the process to reassemble the console.

Take care and good luck.

I need simple instructions on how to replace the ballaster for a mitsubishi wd-62525

Minor point, the correct term is 'ballast' like on a fluorescent lamp.

Unplug the unit from the wall.

Remove the filter cover (from the rear, it's on the right side of the electronics cover). Remove the electronics cover (the one on the back with the fan in the center). Remove the rear metal plate (about 25 screws). Remove the right rear support bracket to gain access to the ballast area. Remove the ballast shield. Unplug the two connectors on the ballast module. Unscrew the lamp connector (2 screws). Remove the 2 screws holding the ballast in place, they're at the closer end, near the fan. Lift the closer end of the ballast board and remove (there's a hooked lip holding the other end, no screws).

T-con board for your samsung

The t-con board is very easy to replace. The only problem is you need to take a bunch of stuff off before you can get to it. How to replace it:
1. Take off the back of the TV
2. Unplug all the wires connected to the middle boards, you will need to take off the whole assembly that the 2 boards are attached to, the main power board and audio/video board.
3. The t-con board is under the shiny metal cover near the top of the TV. There are four small screws holding the cover in place. (You should be able to see the cover when you take off the back plastic cover of the TV).
4. There are 3 connectors attached to the board. The white one that comes from the audio/video board and 2 small ribbon type that connect to the front of the TV, probably the LCD panel.
5. The 1 separate connector is self explanatory. The other 2 are a little more difficult. They just slide into place. When you look at the connection, there is a brown "flap" holding the ribbon in place. You need to flip it up from the top side of the TV.
6. The old t-con board just comes out and the new one goes in.
Hope this helps!
